Tebow will be starting against us on "Gator Day" in OUR stadium

Is there even anything actually planned for halftime? All I see is the pre-game party and the post-game photo op.

It's not like the Dolphins will be wearing Gators jerseys or anything. If you don't like it, show up and boo.

Look, the way things have been going, there are plenty other reasons to be angry with the team -- their actual on-field performance is obviously the top of the list. But to be freaking out over this promotion is just petty.

Its a symptom of the larger problem here. The organization as a whole is a total trainwreck from top to bottom. Its even spread to the fans obviously, because Im having to explain why celebrating the opposing QB is a bad thing.

I'm sure not a lot of Denver fans will not be making that trip. Not the way thier team is playing. If it was in the dead of winter maybe just to get a break from the snow. ALL the gator fans that come will OF COURSE be cheering for Denver , Tebow's team. This will probably double the number for opposition fans rootnig against Miami. Good for SFL. Bad for our team and image.

Again lots of Jets fans is bad for the Dolphins but .....
Lots of Denver fans (yes Gator fans will root against us) is good for the Dolphins.

Okay ........ does not make sence my friend.
The report on Tuesday said that they sold an extra 2,000 tickets because of this event. I can bet you that not every single one of those fans will be rooting for Denver. There might be Gators fans that are mild Dolphins fans that make this trip. They might cheer for Tebow on and off, but you don't know for certain that they won't be rooting for Miami the entire game. Some of these Tebow fans were going to show up with or without this Gator event, so lets not pretend that a 10 minute halftime celebration is the sole reason Gator fans are making the trip.

We are talking just about the Gators celebration, not the Tebow fans that were coming regardless. Apparently this event caused an increase of 2,000 tickets and lets just say by game time it is 3,000 tickets. Lets say for fun that 2,500 of those fans are "extra" Bronco fans because of this event. That is about 3% of the stadium, that is a number of opposing fans anybody could live with. My complaint is when the stadium is seeing not 2,500 opposing fans, but seeing 25,000 opposing fans. Which if you have ever been to a Dolphins game is pretty accurate. Really at this point when fans are not showing up, the team wants to sell a few extra tickets to try and make some sort of profit. That same money Ross is going to turn around and spend on that new shiny head coach and quarterback the fans are chanting for. This Gator thing is a gimmick, but it is not a gimmick that changes the landscape of the stadium. If there are a large amount of people cheering for the Broncos that is just a normal Dolphins game.

Yeah it has spread to the fans, because I have to explain why this event is not for the opposing QB, but the entire national championship Gator team. It is funny that some thing this 10 minute celebration is going to change the landscape of Dolphin ticket sales for years to come. lol. Some even think that THOUSANDS of season ticket holders are going to cancel because of this.

Giving the opposing fans added incentive to attend a game, no matter how much spin you wanna put on it, it simply pathetic. Its an embarrassment to the players, the fans and the organization. Decide what you want. One minute you complain about too many opposing fans, the next minute you are fine with providing opposing fans incentive to show up and buy tickets off our fans. I just cant take you seriously on this issue. And consider that other than the actual ticket sales going up, how many Tebow/Broncos fans bought a ticket off a Dolphins fan? The Broncos are laughing at us...that should tell you something.

its true that Tebow/bandwagon Donkey fans were coming regardless. Why compound it? And how can you expect me not to just laugh at any future post you make complaining about opposing fans?

I explained this 100 times. Nobody cares about Pouncey. Nobody. When you think of the championship Gators, one name immediately jumps to mind. Its not Pouncey. And you are delusional if you really believe that us being mocked and ridiculed on national TV leading up to that game will have no impact on ticket sales the rest of the year. Ross is a nimrod. I noticed you havent addressed that point at all. Im assuming its because you know it to be true.

I think its hilarious, that being said they have EVERY right to be upset with their FO.

They decide to honor a team who won a national championship with Tim Tebow on the week that just so happens to be when the visiting Denver Broncos come to their town? Thats crazy. I would be mad too, but honestly I would love to see their stadium full of Blue & Orange jerseys hahaha

Lets face it, aside from the SB, we have played like crap in Miami, hopefully Tebow can change that

I agree. To me, even though I'm not a fan, I look at Miami as a storied franchise of the NFL. It's a shame really, but you reap what you sow.

Maybe the following week they'll roll out the "orange carpet" like they did a few years ago, invite a bunch of never-have-been celebrities and do half the broadcast in a foreign language. That should keep the ticket sales up. That, or they could actually put together a competent football team.

Awesome.

There probably will be few if any Canes/Fins fan that will cancel season tickets.
And this will not change the landscape of ticket sales I'm sure. (poor as it is)
Understand this - for Fla gator fans Tebow equals god. Maybe a hand full of Pouncy's relatives will be rooting for us. They erected a frinking statue for this guy. He has been thier best player in about 20 years for sure. If they held a Tebow party in the middle of the everglades it would draw thousands and we're doing it in a comfortable stadeum so i'm sure MANY will come just to bow before thier King. He plays for Denver so that's who they'll root for no doubt about it.
Nubs your probably the most consistant poster here but this is not consistant will your ovious displeasure of the number of opposing fans in the stateum when you visit this lovely city.
Forget the Gator and Tebow. Would you for any reason want to honor the opposing teams starting QB on our home field ? Advantage Denver. My hope is we hit him so hard he can not make the ceramony because he's getting x rays from being sacked so much.

I just dont get this at all. I was a UF student and was at the game in Sunlife when we won the championship. But I'm pretty sure this is going to make a mockery of our accomplishment just out of sheer stupidity. And the worst part is I'm guessing that most fans think we're in favor of this (or even worse, Im just out of touch and gator fans do favor this). The connections with Tebow and the game location are so weak that it shouldn't even have been a consideration.

Celebrating football teams of the past has an appropriate time and place. Ideally when there is no real football going on, or the players actually played for your team. But we are overshadowing our own game for a college game that featured an opposing player. And it was going to be awful whether Tebow was playing or still a third stringer. We were either going to be celebrating the opposing QB or the guy who's next up to hold a clipboard (Don't know which is dumber)

Even a Gator fan see the stupidity of this move. I'm finished with this subject . Just read the above and see NO ONE thinks this is a good idea. Thanks Charlie the gator:thanks:
