Tebow will be starting against us on "Gator Day" in OUR stadium

Who cares, the good news is the game will not be blacked out since it will be filled with gaytors.

there are still close to 25,000 unsold tickets, with just over a week to go. its a certain blackout. so the gimmick didn't work, just 2,000 tickets so far, and a lot of alienated Canes fans that were already pissed off as Dolphins fans.....

I can't wait to see about the fights in the stands between Gayturd fans and Canes fans and the innocent lady that gets caught in between and gets hurt, than sues the Dolphins.

I am not going to get into this all over again, because I have already put out my feelings and opinions on this subject in this thread. So I will end with this post.

I do think you, and some others here are making a much bigger deal out of this than it really is. You want to know why this will be on PTI and Around the Horn next week as one poster here fears? It is not really because of the event itself, it is because of the people who are crying and complaining about it. If there were no complaints, there would be no story and no issue to talk about.

You are predicting that THOUSANDS of season ticket holders will cancel. The stadium ticket sales will be impacted for years to come even if the Dolphins are winning and have a star coach and star QB. You predict fights to break out in the stands. Innocent fans to be physcially hurt so bad that they need to sue. All this because of a 10 minute half time celebration for the Florida Gators at the next home game. lol. Please tell me that whole thought process is not little over exaggerated and ludicrous?

Maybe there will be some people who boycott and don't renew their season tickets. That number will not be thousands, more like hundreds, perhaps even just double digits. There is a lot of big talk from those season ticket holders but I bet you in a few weeks or months that these people won't either remember or care about a 10 minute half time celebration. I don't care about some poll on a Hurricanes message board, that doesn't tell us really anything. Is every vote in that poll from a Dolphins season ticket holder? Doubt it. If the Dolphins are fielding a winning prodcut these fans won't care next season or 5 years down the road. You are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Are you telling me these fans won't show up if the Dolphins are hosting the AFC Championship game in the next few years? Are they really going to say "I am not going to the AFC Championship and possibly see the Dolphins clinch a spot in the Super Bowl because a few years ago the team held a 10 minute half time celebration for the Florida Gators." Are you freaking kidding me? That would never happen. If you really think these people are going to act like this and hold a grudge over something so stupid you must not think South Florida fans are all that bright. I think you need to have a little more respect for the people you live around.

I stand by what I have said.

I am a member of the U of Miami Alumni Association, an officer in the Association as a matter of fact. I know all of the members of the University of Miami Board of Trustees & President Shalala very well. Every one of them, as well as at least 500 members of our Association have all pledged to not go to this game or another Dolphins game if this event occurs. Many of our Association members have family that go to the Dolphins games as well, and many of them also will not be going.

Then there are others outside of our Association that will not go anymore.

I would safely say that will account for roughly around 1,500 and probably even more.

The Dolphins have made a terrible mistake in doing this, and it will cost Mr. Ross a lot more than he realizes. We have at least 3 members that own Sky Boxes and over 100 members that are club seat season ticket holders. They have all vowed not to attend anymore Dolphins games and will give up their seats.

Again, I stand by what I said.

I commend you for sticking to your guns, and I said in the other post that I was done, but I have to admit I chuckled when I read this response above. It does make a little more sense to me why you are saying the things you are after finding out you are an officer in the U of Miami Alumni Association. Makes perfect sense since you are likely just shouting the company line.

With that said, if you truly think Dolphin season ticket holders are going to throw their tickets away now and for future years because of a 10 minute half time celebration, I just don't think there is any real reason to debate this topic with you. It is ridiculous to think this is going to cause all the horrible things you seem to think it will. As I mentioned in my last post, you anticipate all this happening:

1. 1,500+ season ticket holders will cancel and never come back.

2. The stadium ticket sales will be impacted for years to come even if the Dolphins are winning and have a star coach and star QB.

3. Fights will break out in the stands because of this at the next home game.

4. Innocent fans will be physically hurt so bad that they need to sue.

Am I missing something? I am surprised you didn't go as far as to say the stadium will burn down over this.

I know you are just passing along that Canes fans are upset, now that I know that you an officer that represents them. The company line only goes so far until ridiculous statements like the four I posted above become part of your argument. I GUARANTEE you that 1,500+ season ticket holders are NOT going to cancel because of this 10 minute halftime celebration. 20? Maybe 50? That possible. Hundreds? Not happening. Thousands?

No one will care about this as long as the team is winning and if they do care if/when this is a dominate NFL team and continue to boycott years down the road, they need to just grow up and act mature. Again, I have to think South Florida fans are brighter than to hold a petty grudge, but perhaps I give them to much credit. I think it is all anger and talk right now that WILL NOT amount to anything.

If all your crazy thoughts end up happening, YOU and your fellow friends are just asking Ross to take this team out of Miami. Is that your ultimate goal?

Let's just change it to Nublar Day. My man seems to be the only one in favor of this. I admire his determination. The Dolphins could use his fight and spirit. Makes about as much sence to me.

Is it a bad idea? Yeah, celebrating an opposing team's player is never a good idea...if the BS fans this city has would actually go to the games, then Ross wouldnt have to pull the bs to get people to go to the games...does the team suck? HELL YEAH, but u never saw Detroit's games empty even when they were 0-16...this team's fan base is garbage, including myself. We do not support this team damn near as much as we should, so instead of ******ing and complaining about who the heck we are honoring or what w/e go to the GAMES!!!!! Ross is a business man, and if hes not getting his own team's fans to attend the games, then hes gonna do anything he can to sell tickets. What he didnt realize is that all the um fans will cry about this because this is their home field...As a Gator fan I love this, its a win win for me...so I personally dont care and love all the crap the angry um fans are saying!! soo all im saying is STFU and go to games, or dont complain about what the team does because u are not supporting it!!! when our stadium is filled with just as many patriot fans on a MNF game, that tells u something about this garbage fan base!!

I am not in favor of this day. Hell, I hate the Gators. I am a Penn State fan.

I just don't think it is the doomsday type of event that a lot of people think it is. No one will care weeks, months down the road and definitely will not remember next year. People have problems if they are canceling their season tickets because of a 10 minute half time celebration. Ridiculous!

Its not JUST this event. Its the cumulative effect of all the retardation and the overall joke we have become. And no, us discussing this on a message board isnt what makes this move a joke. This would make the national media regardless. Have you ever seen a team do anything like this? Nope. Why? Probably because its funny and ridiculous. Please just admit for me that you would mercilessly mock the Jets if it was them doing a celebration like this.

I would be confused why the Jets would choose to celebrate a national championship of a team from Florida. If the Jets chose to celebrate the Gators, I am pretty sure Rutgers/Jets fans would not boycott going to Jets games for their rest of their life.

Awesome job totally avoiding the question. You know exactly what I meant. Jets fans WOULD be pretty mad if they had a Syracuse celebration ceremony while Donovan McNabb was in town. And even that would make slightly more sense than ours because at least Syracuse is in the same geographical area as the Jets. Even then, its still not the same. I doubt people will be there just to cheer for McNabb.

Detroit attendance in 2007 - 28th in the league, 2008 - 32nd in the league, 2009 - 31st in the league.

I beg to differ with you about Detroit......the numbers say you are COMPLETELY wrong.

You lose all credibility.

Correction: garbage team/coach/front office. Why the hell would I pay good money to watch this **** show excuse for an NFL team. If we're not selling tickets do something to entice the fan base. Don't invite the rival crowd. Pathetic.

Of course the blind homers can't understand this basic simple logic.
