After watching Cam and Randy's recap of the draft today in their press conference and after everything I've heard from Cam today all I've heard is Ted Ginn Jr, the PUNT RETURNER. Not the Wide Receiver. I hope they're correct and this guy can be our X-Factor Reggie Bush type player. But it's very discouraging to hear about this great PUNT RETURNER we drafted #9 overall.

100% agree.

I guarantee Ginn's average per punt return won't even be 5 yards more than Welker at the end of next season.. NFL special teams on punt coverage get down there FAST !!! Not like college .

Man we screwed ourselves with this pick.. UNBELIEVEABLE !

What are you talking about? It was a great idea to pass up a great franchise quarterback in order to take a punt returner!
How dare you question the greatness of our front office?!!!

(they suck)

WOW!!! we needed a first round 9th pick overall to replace wes welker????...........

There was a lot of speculation regarding Brady Quinn...he is/will be a SOLID player...not special, not franchise quarterback. Why pay him franchise money? Ted Ginn is most compared to Marvin Harrison. Ginn has a better chance to be special. We also picked up Beck who has a quicker release, better long ball, and is more accurate than Brady Quinn.

stop overanalyzing this. Yes he will return punts but he'll also be a WR. He just wanted to remind the fans that he'll be a multi-dimensional player for us, and its like picking two or three players with one pick. Unlike Quinn who was like picking zero for this year because he would of sat at least the first 8 games then possibly come in and suck for 8 more.

Step back and use common sense. Ginn's biggest strength is returning kicks, So Cameron said it first. The guy has played QB and DB in the past as well. He just started refining his skills at WR in college, but he has a good knowledge of other positions, which makes him a better player. So he is what you get...

Ginn is a special player with world-class speed. He will be returning kicks in Miami. He will eventually be a great WR. He will be used on offense outside, in the slot, in the backfield, and on and on. Eventually, when he is in the game, he will draw attention away from other players, which will make our entire offense better - unlike the way we lined Ricky up in 2003 and let the entire defense know he was getting the ball every time.

He is not just a punt returner. Go learn some more about Ginn Jr. And don't learn from the television. Go online and read.

And I wondered where Ms.Cleo has been all these years

Trowa...you are one of the best and brightest posters here imo, how can you think this kid is ONLY going to reurn punts? Cam said that because it is true... he was the most exciting player in ALL of college football last year, and Cam expects the same here. Cam is an offensive guru.. he will CREATE situations to get the ball into Ginns hands.

I can hardly wait, he will force the defense to roll towards him every time he lines up and he will create a NEW career for CC. They will HAVE to take serious time gameplanning ALL our returns on ST's. Adjust all their coverage packages to keep track of him and let us not forget, it is not just the times the ball goes to him that he affects the gameplan, it is every time he lines up. FINALLY we have someone to fear... every time he lines up.

well YOU should be happy... this gives you a ton of things to whine and cry about for another year

I agree.. We drafted a bust of a kick returner just like Rocket Ismail and Peter Warrick ..

Remember the rocket ismail ? He was the sensation and the most exciting player in college as well.. He was small ( like Ginn) and he stunk it up in the NFL..

Hey, didn't the Rocket end up playing in Canada in the CFL after just a few short years of being unproductive in the NFL ?? That's what will happen to Ginn as well..

Stupid pick !!

We should have drafted Bowe if we were going to get a receiver.. He would help out Beck ALOT more than Ginn will

man alot of you people are way to media influenced. A few years ago no one knew who Tom Brady was he was not even a third rounder If I remember correctly. Now he has 3 rings and regarded as one of the all time best.

As for our new KICK returner you like to call him. Your all dead wrong
You wont be bitching about him when we our average starting field position is our 35/40 instead of the 20 ever set of downs. Shorter field means more points.

As for him in the slot or a 3 wide set we now have MAJOR options with speed. Chris chambers deep, don't double him? OK we got a deep ball. Double him we got a SPEED burner mid/short that can get an easy 10 yards ever catch and move the chains. Send them both deep and ronnie or TE free up the middle!

Simple they need to account for us now.
