Ted Ginn Jr. didn't need to turn on sports talk radio to hear critics nail him for running out of bounds twice against the Chargers with the Dolphins trying to run out the clock on their second straight victory.

Ginn got an earful from his father, Ted Sr., a high school coach, as he stepped inside his home following the game.

"When he saw me go out of bounds he made sure he talked to me about my awareness," said Ginn, who tied a career high by catching seven passes for 55 yards against the Chargers.

"It's always good to get the same feedback from everyone," said Ginn, who caught heat from coach Tony Sparano for the plays. "The coaches didn't tell me anything different than what my pops said."

you left out the only part that pertains to your Heading..

Ginn would also like his old job back, that of primary returner.

In his rookie season, Ginn averaged 22.7 yards on kickoff returns and 9.6 on punt returns (which included a touchdown), which was sixth-best in the NFL. During the exhibition season he returned a punt for a 59-yard touchdown against the Chiefs.

Sparano said he replaced Ginn with rookie receiver Davone Bess because of Bess' tendency to make the first defender miss. Bess is averaging 11.2 yards on five punt returns and 19.8 on kickoffs.

"I luckily got out there last week. I enjoyed it and hope I can see more. But I'm just going with what my role is," said Ginn, who returned one punt 11 yards against San Diego but bobbled the catch. "Right now I'm playing a lot on the offensive side and need to make plays over there. But [returns] are what I do.

"It's frustrating, but it's not. If I continue to work hard, things will work out."

I don't like the fact that Bess is out there simply because he can get an extra 2/3 yards per return. Give me the guy who is capable of breaking a touchdown occasionally over the safe 11 yards.

this is still stupid. its bess i think b/c he is a BP player and ginn a hold over.

I agree. Even if Ginn only returns 2 punts a game, he can still break them and he obviously loves returning kicks.

i'm still trying to figure out why a guy who loves returning kicks was drafted in the 1st rd...and especially by a man who supposedly is an offensive guru...

Maybe Cammueller didn't like their neighbors in south Florida?

I really want to see Ted return kicks and punts. When he gets past the first wall nobody can stop him.

I guess that's why he is not though, most times he doesn't get past the first part.

Because he can be a good receiver to

Yes yes. Since we drafted the "whole Ginn family" maybe poppa Ginn will suit up and show his son how to do it around here.

There's not a lot of love for Ginn yet, but I'm predicting that will change before the end of the season. Deep down (maybe I'm just a homer) I believe Ginn will become a very good receiver for us. Pro bowl? I'm not going that far yet, but very good seems not only possible, but probable.

Ginn needs to be returning kickoffs and punts . . . period. Sparano is WRONG on this judgement, I'm sorry. I was thinking that he wanted Ginn to focus on being a WR, but if he thinks Bess is the better returner because he possibly can make the first defender miss . . . then he is sadly mistaken . . . give me the guy who can outrun the first defender and the whole special teams unit, instead of the guy who can make the first guy miss, but is too slow to get a ton of yardage. Ginn is a proven returner, Bess is another Welker, yea he may be shifty . . . but we probably will NEVER see a return TD from him . . . I think Welker had 1 (maybe none) in the 3 years he was here, Ginn had 3 last year (2 called back, but the flags had no effect on the play, so they count in my book) . . . anybody who has 3 returns for TD with the pathetic special teams we had last year is a fantastic return man. Let Ginn do the returning, yea he may get brought down easier than some guys . . . but he is as electric as they come . . . remember the preseason?

Agree whole heartedly. People act like coaches dont make mistakes. Ginn is a better returnmnan.

kicks all day long, and he should be the only one back.giving us an extra blocker.i am just not sure about punts.we need him returning them, but he cant let the ball hit the dam ground.my guess is just like last week, somewhere near midfield to start
