Thought it would be interesting to compare Ted Ginn Jr. and Wes Welker at the same points in their respective careers.

Now b4 you mention Ted was taken at #9 and Welker was undrafted lets compare the stats anyway.

Tedd Ginn 38 career games
263 touches for 4405 total yards (16.7 average)
116 yards per game
10 TD's, 1 per 26.3 touches
108 receptions for 1421 yards (13.2 average) 5 TD's

Wes Welker after 38 career games
277 touches for 5170 total yards (18.6 average)
136 yards per game
1 TD, 1 per 277 touches
68 receptions for 827 yards (12.2 average) 0 TD's

Wes has a better average per touch but Ted Ginn has 10 times a many TD's. Ginn actually has better receiving stats at this point of his career. Maybe we shouldn't give up on Ted as a receiver.

Welker ended up going to his 1st Pro Bowl in his 5th season when he had help with a true #1 receiver opposite him. Let's get Ginn a #1 and see what he can do.

The big difference, Welker will take a hit. Ginn.........Well he just wont. Welker is good.......Ginn just isnt. Plain and simple

Welker had to scratch and claw his way into playing time as a FA and was waived at least once. Ginn, as a 1st rd pick, was basically handed playing time. They are so different in playing style that I wouldn't want to compare them anyway. Different animals.

LOL....I love it. Can you ginn lovers stop the nonsense.

Welker > Ginn

ginn received way more playing time because of the place he was drafted so different situations for both. welker had gain his playing time, ginn was given playing time from the start.

at least this isn't as bad as the brady-henne comparison thread. i think it's time to compare sparano to lombardi.

Welker has alot more experience. Give Ginn a break. Welker is poised to surpass 10,000 all purpose yards. He needs 134 yards on Sunday to surpass 10,000

Just was showing that Ginn actually has better receiving stats than Wes at the same points of their respective careers. If we get a real #1 then Ginn could turn into a Welker for us qwith more speed.

put ginn on the pats and he'd probably have all pro numbers also. welker is good.....but that team makes him look 2x better.

Can the Pats teach Ginn to catch? If the guy actually caught the balls that were thrown to him, he'd have some really good #'s so far.

In my own delusional homer mind I think anyone that plays for the fins are better than everyone else. Or they will be the best at some point, needless to say I get let down alot. lol

Welkers pretty good but if we ran 7-8 bubble screens a game for Ginn (which would be a terrible idea b/c it would be effective) he would surely have less drops, more catches, and more YAC. But that doesn't make sense b/c Ginn just doesn't have it. Maybe if Ginn starts 'working' his way up and 'proving' his play to people, he will explode. I mean we all knew Ginn couldn't make it past the 15 yd line on kickoffs, because hes not good, dont forget.

Why do we have to play what if like we are 5 year old children
Reality is, Welker is where he is and producing
2 -1000+ yards and 2-100+ receptions in back to back years

and Ginn is here and has managed to play himself OFF the field as a wide receiver...enough said
