Ted Ginn returns 2 the distance to lead 49ers to victory!

dude, ted ginn was terrible as a WR when he was here. he had 2 kickoff returns against the jets in one game and guess what? we cut him anyway, because he is not any good.
 
You're a day late and a dollar short...we've already had about three of these threads moved to the "General NFL" forums YESTERDAY.

As far as Ginn goes, I said it yesterday and I'll say it again: let him prove he can do it on a consistent basis. He's had a history of having ONE fabulous return game a season, but nowhere to be found the rest of the year. Even if he does return a few more, we just need to move on already.
 
Yeah nobody doubted him as a KR/PR he def had those skills. But though he can be a beast with that he was not quick enough (long strides) tough enough (dove out of bounds) and def didnt have good enough hands to be an elite WR.

Hell from what I have seen from Gates I think he will soon (by seasons end) be better than Ginn will ever will be as a WR.
 
I don't get this false ideas that KR/PR supposed to get TDs constantly. Devin Hester had 6 in one season, which is a lot for any KR/PR, and 7 another. Those were known as world class stats for that position. 3-5 is a season is a good amount for KR/PR, let alone 2 in one game.
 
Let's just see what he does the rest of the season to make a judgement, but the comparison to why draft Ginn over Brady Quinn who has done absolutely nothing thus far is a joke. I think Gates will be a better WR than Ginn...not as a returner...Ginn is among the best...up there with Hester and Cribbs IMHO.
 
My thought is this. Did we give Ginn enough time??? We should of just used him in KR and PR and groomed him over time. Again the regime expected him to be a star receiver in his 1st year!!! Ridiculous! Sometimes it takes QBs 3 years or so to really become a bona fide star and the same may go for other positions! Worse case, he could of been on return guy and just used on special ocassions. Im 46 and I have learned patience over the years.
