1st RD. Ted Ginn WR, Ohio State.
The word around here every time Mueller has interviewed in the radio shows is that he wants to upgrade the speed at WR. There ins't a WR with more speed in the draft than Ginn. Mel Kiper, and other draft experts have us taking him at #9.

2nd RD. Troy Smith QB, Ohio State.
I've been following the Senior Bowl practices at it appears that Troy has looked very good. Its between him, and Straton for the best looking QB prospect so far. I dont believe Straton will be there, when we pick at #40, so Im Ok taking Smith here and reuniting him with Ted Jr.

3rd RD. Kyle Young C, Fresno State
One of the first things our new coach said was that the O has to be built from the middle (C-QB-RB). Kyle is the type of C coach HH likes (6'5" 335 lbs.) and strong as an ox. This will allow us to move Hadnot back to G, where he played better.

2nd day pics: Best Available players on defense.

I know we need help on the Defensive side of the ball but remember, our new coach was brought here to fix the O. The D, althought old, still preformed good last year, and it has the coaching continuity and expertise to keep it performing at a high level.

I agree with you on your mock! We absolutely need speed at the reciever position. I am also a big fan of Troy Smith, despite his teams performance in the championship.

Ginn is an undeveloped WR prospect. He'll be lucky to be the 4th receiver next season. So basically we would be spending the 9th pick on a KR.
Troy Smith has backup written all over him.
I don't see how this team will ever progress to the next level with a draft like that.

No thanks. Ginn is brittle and Smith blows.

Randall Hill, what a great player he turned out to be.

:yeahthat: I agree, I'd be pretty disappointted with that as our first day picks.

what ever team drafts him will find a way to have him on the field. he'll be playing wr punt return and kr. exact same role welker is playing now but with take it to the house speed.

That's not enough for the 9th pick. He sounds like the second coming of Desmond Howard. That would be fine in the 2nd or 3rd rd, BUT not a top 10 pick.
I'll pass

Don't put much credence in someone's mock draft who doesnt even know the players names. If you have been following the Senior Bowl, you would recognize that the Mich St's QBs name in Stanton, not Straton. That;s almost as bad as the one guy who said we needed to draft the WR from Ga Tech, Calvin Murphy.

He's definitely the "sexy" pick, as many skill position players are. I'll take an "in the trenches" guy. Preferably O-line. I'm hoping Levi Brown shows he's worth it.

Lets fire Cam and make Tressel while were at it so Ginn and Smith can feel at home. I wonder if Smith will get paid more than he did in college? Zing.

NO, it wasnt his teams performance, as much as you'd like to think so. That was a team full of professional athletes on defense, that put some pressure on him, which he hasnt had all season, and he CRACKED.....Troy smith is not going to be a good pro QB, that is evident. Its silly to think other wise.

I'd say NO to both of those players, we need upgrades in other areas, not QB and WR.
