Its very early Sunday morning and I can not sleep, it is giving me a lot of time to think...

Since the season has started I have dozens of topics on here about our "#1" receiver Ted Ginn. Like most of you on here, like I am, are disappointed at the way he has developed since he has been a Dolphin. At times he appears to beginning to figure things out and looks poise to come into his own and the next week he disappears completely and I don't fully understand why.

In week two against Indy he had 11 catches, but dropped what should have been the game winning TD. Granted it was a catch he should have come down with at this point in his career, but he made several key plays to extend drives that put us in that position in the first place. Everyone seems to blast him for that, fails to acknowledge an otherwise solid performance. Ginn has been such an enigma it makes me wonder what is going on. Seeing his catches and targets over the last two weeks it appears Sparano has the same questions.

What it seems to be is Ginn will never completely become a great player in the NFL, but his physical talents are something that should be utilized more often. I don't understand what seems to be a disdain for Ginn from the majority of fans on here. We need to look at the positives...he is a guy with elite speed and average hands, Donte Stallworth without the legal issues. An average receiver who can help the team with his talents but can't be counted on week in and week out. But listen he is still better than the option most of you guys wanted in the 2007 draft in Brady Quinn, cut the guy a break he is a Dolphin!

No. I won't give him a break. He sucks. Every week I will come here and say it until he stops sucking.

Ginn is soft out there and that is what I cannot excuse. he too often looks to run out of bounds or goes to the ground during the catch. he has nothing in the way of YAC and for a guy with his speed, that should be his game, catch a 7 yard pass and break it for 40 (or god forbid a touchdown). besides that, where is the deep threat? he's had chances and he drops balls or fails to make a play when the ball is in the air.

I dont know, maybe henne can make something of ginn with the greater arm strength. I dont have a lot of confidence at this point and the team management looks to feel the same.

I dont see near the hate for guys like Fasano and Wilson...

He has made a lot of plays here.

He just seems to never do it week in week out.

He has the tools thats a given I think thats why everyone hates him so much because they know he can, he just doesnt

The complaints on Ginn are always so pathetic....

Really, way to go out on a limb and show off some of I.Q.

Almost all WR`s try to avoid hits whenever they can, their not RB`s built for the pounding. YAC usually comes when you are hit in stride not stopping and having to go back to the ball. We saw this against our first 3 opponents when they consistently got the ball on stride in the seams. In one game he failed to come down with the ball on the deep ball, like that hasn`t happened to any other WR in the league.

The OP is dead on with this, yes he`s struggled at times but has also shown alot of promise. The upside of Ginn helps us greatly in the long run, getting rid of Ginn does absolutely nothing for us. Some fans are peeved that he`s not the number 1 that THEY hoped he`d be, that`s the biggest issue here. Ginn would explode with a number 1, he would benefit a great deal from the single coverage.

Another aspect I don`t think most fans are looking at aswell is that the FO may not want to invest in a number 1. They would actually prefer a solid group of Receivers that all bring something different to the offense. If one of these guys develope into a number 1 then even better but defenses would not be able to key on any one specific Receiver during important downs. Ginn would be the stretch the field guy, Bess is Mr short yardage, Turner would be redzone, Cam and Hartline seem to be the do it alls. Just something to think about.

I think it's funny that if Penny just throws to someone else on that final play against the Colts and we still lose we would look at Ginn in a totally different way. Then we would be pumped about his big game but instead his year has just imploded from that point. I wonder what would have happened if he had just not been thrown that pass.

If he caught it would he be considered to have come in to his own? I thought it was a tough catch but one he should have caught, because he didn`t it doesn`t change his ability to help this team.

Yeah it is a shame. I feel like this coaching staff is holding it against him. They threw deep to him on the first play against the Chargers but then just gave up getting the ball to him until the second half when he dropped both of those Henne passes. And then they barely even tried to get the ball to Ginn against Buffalo.

Maybe they wanna save some plays they've drawn up for him to throw against the Jets this week, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a big game this week, he has the potential, he just hasn't done it consistently yet
