didn't see it posted - if it is sorry

Here is an article Where Butch Reynolds and Terry Robiski talk about Tedd Ginn (terry's son plays for the Buckeyes so Terry saw alot of the guy)
You think we dont have more information on the guy than any other club you are crazy. This guy was the right pick. If you wanted Quinn before the draft. beck and this guy will make you forget about him soon enough.

Reynolds says Ginn was running 44 second 400m .... that is nuts....it also means he not only is world class fast - he has the endurance to maintain the speed and that is critical - he will be able to wear defensive backs out during the course of the game and won't have to take plays off like Moss.

ok yell at me for being a Homer...but seriously if he would have made our olympic team and at perhaps maybe two different events (110m hurdle and say 400m relay) doesn't that perhaps make him maybe one of the fastest say 40 men on the planet? and how many of them are playing football?? only Ginn. enough said. Can't wait to see our offense for the first time since Ricky was running and/or Marino was throwing the ball!

Early in college, Ted Ginn ran the 110 meter hurdles so fast, that he would have placed 5th in the previous olympics.. That's 5th Fastest in the world.. Now, I don't have a link to the story, but I read it on an OSU website before the draft..

Anyways, that's just amazing.

Lets hope his catching skills are NFL standard then and he will burn many Defensive backfields.

WOW! some support from Greyboy - tough to come by lol!

Let me add that the speed is nice, but it's not everything.. Can a guy be a ballplayer is the question.. That guy Pope we got as a UDFA has the same speed as Ginn, but he was undrafted .. Pope has very bad hip turn movement and has sub par awareness ability, it's why he stinks as a ball player and probably won't ever even see the practice aquad..

Playing ball and speed are two different things.. When a player can put both together, with good vision to see where to go at the instinctive time (something Marshall FAulk was very good at) , you have yourselves a player... There a TONS of players with amazing speed that came into the league and they flopped.. Renaldo Nehemiah is one of many.. He was an olympic athlete but stunk as a player..

finfan13, all because I may think someone is a very fast runner, that does not mean I am supporting you .. It's supporting the player..

Who was that other olympic sprinter besides Nehemiah that was hyped when he came into the NFL and turned out to be poop..

There is a guy called Dwain Chambers playing in NFL Europe just now who was a world class 100m runner (ran 10.0something). If speed was everything he would be a star. Guess what - he cannot get a start in Europe!!!

Here's some more insight on Nehemiah, who was faster than Ginn.. I hope Ginn doesn't flunk in the NFL like this guy did..

Renaldo "Skeets" Nehemiah (born March 24, 1959 in Newark, New Jersey), is an American athlete who dominated the 110 m hurdle event from 1978 until 1981. He was the world record holder and the first man to run the high hurdles in under 13 seconds. He was ranked number one in the world for four straight years..

Nehemiah was the national junior champion in 1977, the same year he graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Representing the University of Maryland, College Park, he won three NCAA titles (two indoor).

In 1979 he won the Pan American Games title and the World Cup, although, he is also remembered for his great relay legs for the Terrapins at the Penn Relays. The relays were just two weeks after he first broke the world record for the 110 meter hurdles. During the relays he recorded an unofficial split of 19.4 seconds in the 4-by-200 meter relay and a 44.3 second split in the 4x400 meter relay. Nehemiah described his 400-meter leg as follows:

Due to the U.S. boycott, he was unable to compete in the 1980 Olympic games, despite being the prohibitive favorite. In 1981 he set his outdoor world record of 12.93 for the 110m hurdles. This was the third time he had lowered the outdoor world record.

In 1982 Nehemiah started playing football for the San Francisco 49ers. During his three years as a wide receiver he caught 43 passes for 754 yards, a 17.5 average, and 4 touchdowns. Although he was part of the Super Bowl winning team in the 1984 season, he did not play a major role. His football career was not as successful as his track career and he returned to track in 1986. He managed to achieve world rankings four more times before retiring from Athletics after the 1991 season

here we go again.... maybe you haven't seen Ginn play then??? It's pretty obvious the guy IS A FOOTBALL PLAYER. He was the Nations premier DEFENSIVE BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL. he was recruited as a DB. The guy could be a top 5 DB in this league in a couple years if he played that side of the ball. hes only played receiver for 2 years. He goes up and gets the ball catches it in traffic (of course there never is any). why do you think he is so good running back kicks (he holds the NCAA record) in 2.5 years of football, and EVERYBODY ALWAYS kicked away from him. His vision is ridiculous. watch some of his highlights - he'll be in a crowd of 5,6,7,8 players and come out of the pack cause he finds the hole and doesnt quit on plays

You are again assuming things.. Where did I say Ginn can't play football ? However his hands need work, as he muffed quite few returns over the last couple of years, but that's another issue...All I brought up is that speed isn't everything.. And it's not.. Ginn still hasn't proven he can do it in the NFL .. I think he can, but that remains to be seen..

ok dude....it's not like we called the U.S. olympic committee and asked them who the fastest guy we had at 110m hurdles or something. the guy has played football ALL his life....his dad is one of the most respected coaches in High School football...and That school produces player, after player, after player. we drafted the guy in the first round based on production and what he did in 2.5 years at Ohio St. maybe you didnt see they were one of the top 3 or 4 programs in football over that time period??? and believe me Ginn scared teams the most - he was the one guy above all others (and there were alot) that could change the game in an instant. So you want to talk about a Homer??? nice post - with the article! that was homerific

Who was that other olympic sprinter besides Nehemiah that was hyped when he came into the NFL and turned out to be poop..

Didn't the Raiders bring one in like every year and they never worked out. Speed!=a good football player.

Fishyfan13.. First off all, I know all of Ginn's history, including high school, so save your breath.. Secondly, Nehemiah was also hyped because he COULD play football before he entered the NFL.. But flopped.. And like I have said MANY times on this board, I do like Ginn

And finally, you started this thread and it was based on "Speed" .. Look at your thread title and look what you first wrote.. I brought up that there have been many MANY players that were just as fast that didn't amount to anything , and that is a fact...

Do I think Ginn will have a decent career ? Yes I do .. Just look at my posts about him in other threads before drawing your own insecure conclusions.. But I dont think he'll be good just based on speed..
Dude, you are the most insecure person on this forum.. Anytime someone may say something negative about a player you lose it.. I didn't even say anything negative regarding Ginn besides his hands here.. And his hands are a problem, but that doesn't mean I don't like him overall.. STOP BEING so insecure..
