Hes a bust!

Just kidding, theres a lot of talk on the main board about him being a bust. WR from college to the pros is possibly the hardest position to transition in. What reason? i dunno, but generally(and its been said tons and tons of times) the 3rd season of the WRs career is when they break out. And just because im bored and feel like it, these are WRs that had breakout season in the 3rd season in the NFL going down the line in Teams.

ATL - Roddy White - First 2 seasons combined for 59 catches 944 yards 3 TDs. 3rd year he had 83 catchs 1202 yards 6 TDs

Bills - Lee Evans - Great first year with 48 catches 843 yards. 2nd season 48 catches 743 yards. 3rd year broke out with 82 catches 1292 yards 8 TDs

Panthers - Steve Smith - Smiths first 2 years in the league combined 64 catchs 1026 yards 3 TDs. Year 3, 88 catches 1110 yards 6 TDs

Bengals - T.J. Houshmandzadeh - First 2 seasons 62 catches 720 yards 1 TD. 3rd year 73 catches 978 yards 4 TDs.

Chad Ocho Cinco - Not sure whether anyone considers this a break out, but 28 catches 328 yards year 1, year 2 69 catches 1116 yards 5 TDs. Year 3 90 catches 1355 yards 10 TDs(career best)

Browns - Braylon Edwards - 32 catches 512 yards 1st year. 61 catches 884 6 TDs year 2. Year 3, 80 catches 1289 yards 16 TDs

Cowboys - T.O. - First 1,000 yard season in year 3 including 6 more TD catches.

Lions - Roy Williams - Had 37 more catch 623 more yards from year 2 to year 3.

Packers - Donald Driver - First 35 games 44 catches 520 yards 3 TDs. 3rd full season 70 catches 1064 yards.

Pats - Wes Welker - 96 catches 1121 yards 1 TD first 2 seasons. 3rd year 112 catches 1175 yards 8 TDs

Giants - Plaxico Burress - 88 catches 1281 yards 6 TDs first 2 season. 3rd year 78 catches 1325 yards 7 TDs.

Amani Toomer - 44 catches 635 yards 6 TDs first 2 seasons. 3rd year 79 catches 1183 yards 6 TDs.

Jets - Laveranes Coles - 81 catches 1238 yards first 2 seasons. 3rd year 89 catches 1264 yards.

Jerricho Cotchery - 25 catches 311 yards 0 TDs first 2 seasons. 3rd year 82 catches 961 yards 6 TDs.

Raiders - Javon Walker - 64 catches 1035 yards 10 TDs first 2 seasons. 3rd year 89 catches 1382 yards 12 TDs.

Seahawks - Bobby Engram - 78 catches 788 yards first 2 seasons. 3rd year 64 catches 987 yards.

Redskins - Santana Moss - 32 catches 473 yards 4 TDs first 2 seasons. 3rd year 74 catches 1105 yards 10 TDs.

Those are just numbers from a lot of WRs in the league. I can tell you, a majority of the good WRs are year 3rs. Some in year 4. Some in year 2. But majority it seems like year 3 for WRs.

Just some food for thought cuz im bored. doesnt prove Ginn isnt a bust, only production will do that, but it does prove you cant always judge a WR on his first year especially.

Fantastic post, he just needs time to develop. He has the speed that you want as an elite receiver, but is very raw. Give him time he is a work in progress

he doesn't have the size or hands to be a top WR in this league. You took a kick returner with the 9th overall pick in the draft. enough said.
he might be good enough to be more than just a kick returner. But 9th overall? Ouch.

Actually, he had bigger hands coming out of college than Calvin Johnson.

He will be agreat #1 WR some day. He is very fast and can jump. Thats just about all you need to be a WR.

he definitely has the size, and that's easily proven by looking at several small receivers in the league that are great, but i won't even bother with the hands comment since it'd be hard to get you to think otherwise since you're platooning on some worthless opinion.

exactly ... when being picked #9 overall you are expected to produce ..not being a project or a PR/KR

so basically what your saying is he is about a 10 million dollar 4 yr experiment, that may or may not pan out. And if he does he is going to want another big pay day to resign and if he dosnt we wasted another opprotunity in the draft and 13 million dollars

B. Edwards tore his knee and J. Walker was still recovering from a torn knee.

Might want to clean up that list, it's misleading at best.
