New York City police sources tell ESPN's Jeremy Schaap that Boston Celtics guard Sebastian Telfair is being investigated for a possible role in the shooting of rapper Fabolous.

Skylar John Jackson, 28, also known as Fabolous, was shot and wounded in the left thigh Monday night outside of Justin's, a New York club owned by hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs. Telfair was outside of the same club Monday night, and the shooting occurred shortly after a $50,000 chain was ripped from Telfair's neck.

Telfair was observed making a phone call after the chain was stolen.

"We're investigating whether there's a connection between the reported robbery and the shooting," New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press.

After the incident, four men, including Fabolous, were arrested and charged with having unregistered, loaded weapons in their SUV.

On Tuesday night, Telfair viewed four police lineups that included Fabolous and his three companions, but he was unable to identify any suspects.

I love the NBA, i personally don't care what they do off the court, as long as they play good and entertain on the court, thats all that matters

Yeah, not enough uncle tom's and beach boys in the NBA, right?

Get the **** outta here. What Telfair does is his own responsibility, not the entire league's.

C'mon man, don't be naive. The dots have been connected. It's known that the guy who jacked Telfair's chain was one of Fab's associates and then Fab is shot later and his boys are shot at. Your going to tell me Telfair had nothing to do with it despite growing up 20 minutes away in Brooklyn? Like I said, the dots have been connected by the police but since no one's talking the police can't officially do anything (which I understand why no one is talking, it's the code of the streets). I'm not going to knock Telfair on ths one though. If someone jacked my 50 K chain I'd be trying to shoot someone my damn self. Not that I condone that type of action but I also see why he would do what he had to do!

By the way Mindwarp, you shouldn't believe everything the media says but I'm sure whoever wrote the story talked to police officers and got the police report and information straight from the police so it's not as if this story was just concocted because Fab and Telfair were in the same place at the same time. There's something to this story. It might not be the exact truth of what happened but I'd place a bet it's pretty damn close to the truth!
