Tell me again how Tannehill is a bust.

I'm not one who thinks that Tannehill is a bust per se, but one who thinks that we could do better at the QB position even with next year's draft. He might be able to be successful as a 'game manager' type (BTW, that's also what the scouts said about him coming out of college), but those who think that he will be elite have high hopes. Right now he wasn't worth the #8 pick in 2012 because 1. You don't take those type of QBs in top 10-15. 2. Other QBs such as Wilson (especially Wilson) and Foles would have been much better picks in latter rounds. Today he had an slightly above average game, let's not declare him the future just yet.

See, this is it, right here.

Find one time. ONE TIME, where I, or most sensible humans, have labeled him "elite."

My contention is with the "he was a waste of a pick" crowd.

There is a HUGE difference.
 
Tannehill has shown flashes and is clearly better than Henne ever was.

However, we cannot ignore certain facts. Mainly, he missed a wide open Hartline that would have been a first down and sealed the game. He also missed a wide open Wallace again.

Elite QB's make those plays, during crunch time and when the team needs a big play score.

Until Tannehill proves that he can do that consistently, I refrain from naming him a franchise QB.

sounds like a second year qb to me.

31 other teams passed on Foles and Wilson multiple times.

Tannehill is much more than a game manager QB. Given the right protection and a balanced offense, he could be in the same class as Wilson.

Wilson has a superior D, superior home field and a superior rushing attack. You CANNOT compare Wilson to Tannehill.

Except for the fact it saved SD a timeout & about 33 seconds to try and beat us at the end. That whole series was a comedy of errors from passing to the sidelines on second down to RT running out of bounds like he was down by 4.
 
He isn't yet a bust.

Nor is he yet a success.

THey wouldnt have called a time out if he stayed in bounds. Would have been a waste to use the Time out.. only o have us punt and then waste the 2 min warning. They would have just let the clock run down to 2 mins and then recieved the punt.

So it was a loss of about 8 seconds or so... Yes it could have made a difference but it didnt. Better then taking a sack and risking fumble or injury.

Why would the CHargers call a time out at 2:06? So we can punt it and then they get the ball by 1:58 wasting both the 2 min warning and a time out?

No it did not save them a time out. What saved them a time out was not running the ball on 2nd and 3rd down.
