Tell me again how Tannehill is a bust.

Tannehill has shown flashes and is clearly better than Henne ever was.

However, we cannot ignore certain facts. Mainly, he missed a wide open Hartline that would have been a first down and sealed the game. He also missed a wide open Wallace again.

Elite QB's make those plays, during crunch time and when the team needs a big play score.

Until Tannehill proves that he can do that consistently, I refrain from naming him a franchise QB.

It's a good thing that this thread isn't about that, then.

How about we wait till he can string together some good games before you crown him elite. He usually has one good game, then one bad game so lets wait dude.

No one said he's elite yet. He just said he's not a bust, which I think he's justified in saying that.

If you want him to take the reigns next year then clearly you believe he has the potential to be a franchise QB.

THey wouldnt have called a time out if he stayed in bounds. Would have been a waste to use the Time out.. only o have us punt and then waste the 2 min warning. They would have just let the clock run down to 2 mins and then recieved the punt.

So it was a loss of about 8 seconds or so... Yes it could have made a difference but it didnt. Better then taking a sack and risking fumble or injury.
Phillip almost beat us with those seconds...It was not a heady thing to do period but it was silly to be passing at that juncture of the game anyway. He could have threw a pick 6 on that pass in the flat.

But as soon as he has a bad game, he's a bust right?

Well where I live in obviousville, He is not a bust yet and he is not elite yet. Anyone who thinks differently is either a Debbie or Homer imo

So what is he?

Is he a work in progress, that isn't easily defined by selective stats?
The stats that should be "selected" are the ones that are related to his play and are correlated with winning.

It's because of his performance in that regard that he can't yet be labeled a success.

It's because of his level of experience that he can't yet be labeled a bust.

This. I'm called a "blind QB homer" even though I have never called him elite, never said he's awesome, never said he doesn't have huge room for improvement.

And yet the same people who call me this declared him a bust after the Baltimore game. Go back and watch that damn game. He played good ball.

ummmm... but he didn't.

so either we do what we did, which I liked. cuz I hate the conservative BS... or

1. we run and god forbid they lose, and folks on here bitch about us running instead of being agressive.

2. tannehill audibles to a different run play, perhaps a run play and something bad happens and the board goes nuts he changed the play and is a bust...

let's just be glad we won. a win is a win, take it however. we are in good position for wildcard...

I'm not impressed nor convinced. But he did more good than bad today to allow the D to win the game.

First, it's "reins".

Second. this thread is decrying those who think Tannehill is a bust. That's it. Because that just annoys the #### out of me.

Don't tell me what I do and don't think. Because the first thing I thought was, "why do most of our posters not understand the difference between 'reigns' and 'reins?'"

Sorry, Tannehill hasn't done anything today to say that he is going to be anything. His deep balls are terrible. Missing Hartline at the end of the game with 2:00 left was brutal. running out of bounds afterwards was equally brutal. we had awesome field position on our 2nd last drive. a TD would given us some comfort, but as usual, he couldn't lead us to the end zone.

I know everyone wants to get all excited about him, but he's no ray Lucas, but at the moment, he's not as good as Jay Fielder either.

And that's just sad.

He has the same potential to be a bust as he does to be a decent QB. He'll never be elite.

I'd be more then happy with Tanny running our team again next year... Kid has alot of room to grow... but he's young and their is a nice core to work with... I am happy with that...

And who selects these stats, and/or determines which stats those are? You? No thanks.

It all comes down to expectations. Me personally, I have HIGH expectations for a 1st round, number 8th overall pick. And so far, I'm not too impressed with him. He's so hot and cold, and has extremely questionable accuracy on any throw past 20 yards.

But I will see out his entire rookie deal before I pass full judgment.
