Travis Shelton scored on a 96-yard kickoff return for one of his two touchdowns, and Adam DiMichele threw two scoring passes, leading Temple to a 28-14 victory over Bowling Green on Saturday and snapping the Owls' 20-game losing streak.
Temple (1-8) ended the nation's longest losing streak with their first win since a 34-24 victory over Syracuse on Nov. 13, 2004. The Owls lost to Boston College in their final game of the 2004 season and lost 11 games last season.
The victory is Temple's first under new coach Al Golden, whose Owls lost eight straight and were outscored 351-71, allowing 60 points in three losses.
