1. Out of high school, he was drafted in the fourth round by baseball's Anaheim Angels. Of choosing between football and baseball, White said, "The Angels made the decision easy." The money, his mother Vonametris, said, was an, "insult."
2. It doesn't say anything good about White's West Virginia coach (and now Michigan coach) Rich Rodriguez that the Dolphin coaching staff felt the need to change his throwing motion right away (shorter stride, ball thrown from a higher arm slot, shoulder more closed).
3. Alabama, Vanderbilt and Kentucky recruited him as a quarterback.
4. White didn't consider going to home-state Alabama mainly because the school pulled its scholarship offer on his older brother (an all-state running back now coaching at Bluffton University in Ohio) at the last minute.
5. The story of feeling deceived by LSU coach Nick Saban in the recruiting process wasn't lost on White considering where he now plays. "Oh, yeah,'' he said when asked if he followed Saban's lying to the Dolphins.
