From Don Banks column on CNNSI today:

"If it comes down to Vince Young or Jay Cutler on draft day, don't be surprised if the Titans bypass Norm Chow's former USC quarterback and take the guy who starred in their backyard at Vanderbilt."

and

"The Dolphins' search for another starting quarterback option could include talks with Atlanta about the availability of Michael Vick's backup, Matt Schaub. The Falcons might be willing to part with Schaub for a second-round pick -- the same price the Dolphins paid for A.J. Feeley two years ago."

Cutler at 3? Sounds pretty crazy to me. And I don't see Schaub being the guy to trade for, but who knows. Lots of stuff like this will fly over the next few weeks even in the "reputable" media since there's no hard news to report.

Thoughts?

Cutler at #3 would be no surprise at all.

Schaub has never played in an offense other than the west coast system. Would take time to convert him.

Anything's possible

Schaub has completed less than 50% of his passes. Not good, even for someone with limited experience. Seriously, I am tired of grabbing someone elses backups and hoping they turn into the next super star. We need to either trade for a legitimate QB or draft one and develop him ourselves. If a drafted QB doesn't pan out, at least we can say we tried. With Saban and Mueller both involved, I feel pretty confident we'll have our QB sooner than later. But personally, if it came down to trading for Schaub, I'd just say let's stick with Gus for another season.

As good an oxymoron as Jumbo Shrimp or Military Intelligence

Schaub is NOT an option he had one good game against the Pats Defense. Well Everyone threw on the pats defense. And they were behind in the game and were playing catch up. He is NOT an option.

Nick will NOT go to a backup QB again. :tantrum:

Good point! Didn't even notice that! Honestly, it seems like some of these reporters start writing their columns after their fourth beer of the morning.

The answer is simple. If we want a premeir quarterback, we are going to have to make a premeir trade or move..period. can't get gold from a turd;) i agree with you.

Rock on man, I agree 100%!!!! I'm tired of all these damn backups coming in here and us "hoping" he becomes the next Brady, lets face it guys that wont ever happen again, those odds are not on our side.:dolphins:

exatcly. expect a trade big time if cutler is off and leinart/young are still there. 100% i thihkn he will pull teh trigger. meaning saban.

the differences between offenses is overrated

Schaub will be as good as Hasselback, mark my words

I'm pretty sure they meant Matt Leinart, not Young.

Smells like a typo to me!
