...i guess we're not going to be trading the farm for kirk cousin.

Ehh this kind of stuff is why people need to back off the damn ledge when it comes to Ryan tannehill...let's see where things end up the rest of the year...cause plenty of places the grass is not damn greener and he's got the potential to flip the switch on this

We won't get Cousins, because the skins won't trade him.

I don't put a ton of stock into thursday game outcomes with the short prep time.

Cousins isn't a great QB, he's also not a bad QB, but I would not be surprised to see the Redskins stick with him. He fits that offense better then Griffen. And it's obvious Gruden prefers Cousins.

The problem with Ryan Tannehill that I saw on NFL Live is disturbing. I'm not sure if it can be fixed.

The Cousins situation underlines what is wrong with all master QB evaluators around the web. When your supporting cast plays great, almost any QB can do a great job. When the opposite happens, almost no QB can succeed. When you're in between... that's when you sort the wheat from the chaff. Last week Tannehill and Cousins faced exactly opposite situations: Cousins got outstanding help from his team in all areas (protection, catches and big plays after the catch) and Tannehill got piss poor support. This week Cousins' supporting cast wasn't as good but still did a pretty good job... and look what happened. Total collapse.

That's not to say Tannehill didn't play poorly the first two games, he did and very much so, but I disagree with the criticism for last week's loss. And since those two games seem to be the outliers compared to the rest of his career, I'm pretty confident he and the offense will bounce back strong this year.

I not down on Tannehill because if his recent play, but rather because in three years he has not made any progress. He is the same player he was when we drafted him.

Recently teams have realized or more importantly "believed" that putting the team on the QBs back was the way to go. They saw the likes of P. Manning and Brady and said we have to do that. Problem is that it is not just the philosophy that works. You need a good system that can be ran by an extremely special player who is able to bring the weapons along at their standards.

This league is growing through a phase where you need a great talent at that position to deal with the fact that defenses are being built to understand and compete with this philosophy at the highest levels.

I expect to see the league fall back and realize the most realistic shot you have to be a consistent winner is be balanced again. You have to run the ball, protect the passer, play D, and have a QB do his job. This is the most realistic success model even though most on this board expect us to get a supreme talent at QB like it is as easy as saying.
