Terrelle Pryor just ran a 4.38 at his workout

Surprised nobody has mentioned the fact that he is going to be suspended for 5 games. He stated again today that he will not fight the suspension, he will take it. If we would like to try him as a tight end, WR, or even a DB, we wouldn't be able to start the transition until week 6. He can play in the next 2 preseason games, then he cannot play or practice with the team until week 6. I really don't think we should bother. We need to improve our drafts, not waste them. I think it would be a pretty big risk.

Definitely not worth higher than 6th or 7th round...

Alot of people on here are quick to say "No I dont want him becasuse he is not a good QB". I want him to be on this team as something other than QB.

Where will he fit in, what team....not with us? Wallace is a better prospect at WR? Cam Newton is light years better than him and Cam looked lost last night. It will(may) take years to get him pro QB ready. #3 TE....maybe?

I think he is in trouble...Drew will earn his paycheck on this one.

I don't think we can not afford to look at every player, based on a team that been on the fence for years. We are hand picking players as if we are one or steps away from the big dance. All I'm saying is lets not sell ourselves short in any situation.

imo we are one player short for competeing to go to the BIG dance = QB and if henne keeps playing like he did against carolina LOOK OUT!!!!!!! BOB Gresie said that henne was building confidence each and every week .

:rolleyes2:

Like we haven't done that since..?? Get real!! You finfans trip me out.. we are still a mediocre team and can afford to take a risk on a player. Even the best teams take risks ala Eagles, Pats, Green Bay, etc. We are usually stuck in the middle pondering who we will draft to make us better and half of them become misses anyways. Why not invest a pick on a player before the draft even gets here. It cracks me up how some of you say "nothing higher than a 6th round" but if this was April his numbers would warrant at least a 3rd round grade. Get over yourself!!!

You answered your own question. The best teams take chances, because, well, as you said, they're the best. They can afford to do so. Mediocre teams taking chances on mediocre (at best) prospects, keeps them mediocre. And LOL at anyone saying Terrelle Pryor and TE in the same sentence, as if blocking isn't a huge part of playing the position, especially for this team.

Because being suspended is no big deal & may actually be a PLUS ... sitting on the bench takes up a Roster Spot. That's true even if he is Pro Bowl talent ... not gonna come in late & play immediately, gotta learn the plays/schemes.

Fact he's coming to the NFL late will drive his value down ... as he'll need a Roster Spot, thus someone will have to be cut.

dont see how cutting our 4th best back or our third string qb or even 3rd string te or even sixth best receiver for a guy with potential like Pryor is a bad move. I personally think alot of people are talking about a guy they never saw play. He was better in the big ten than our starter

ESPN is reporting that Pryor ran a 4.36: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6...aluate-terrelle-pryor-says-appeal-suspensions

As I said in one of the other threads, guys like Pryor don't grow on trees. Trying finding a 6'5" 240lb athlete than runs a 4.36 with a 31" vertical and led his HS team to State Championships in Football and Basketball (both during his Senior year). The kid is a SPECIAL athlete. Surely the Dolphins could use one of those, right? Seriously, they've effed up so many 3rd and 4th round picks as it is, why is taking a gamble on such an athletic freak such a big deal??

Worst case, he's a bust like many others before him.
Best case, he develops into an above average QB or a freakish WR / TE.

I agree this guy will not cost what pat white cost and has size and speed that white could only dream about. He does have potential

what we can do is bring him in...play him as something else week 5 if henne sucks start him ths year..and then we have our franchise qb next year, no need to draft a qb.

anything is possible. To get a guy of this size speed and possible potential would be very hard in a normal draft. I love so how many think Devlin could be the next Montanna yet think pryor has no chance to succeed
