Nobody is happier to be a Miami Dolphin than Miami native and former New Mexico State football player Terrill Hanks.

But as he prepares for Dolphins rookie camp on May 9-12, Hanks does so with the same chip on his shoulder that he played with throughout his career at New Mexico State.

"I have to prove that I belong on the 53-man roster and I'm here to stay and that I will have a long career here," Hanks said.

After going undrafted in last weekend's NFL Draft, the Miami, Florida native, signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent.

"There was obviously some frustration, but at the same time, I knew my worth," Hanks said. "It just happened to be undrafted free agency.

Yeah, that chip on the shoulder....boohooo....

Come on Terrill, keep that chip on your shoulder. Make sure it is that big you fall over - with Rosen. I want players with a chip on their shoulder.
Yeah, I was mocking Brandt. He totally ignores the fact that someone specifically asked him about it.

This time of year there are more chips on people’s shoulders than you’ll find at all the Cinco de Mayo celebrations on Sunday. I feel like we need some new euphemisms.

Over the shoulder boulder holders will slide in there seamlessly. Problem solved.

I like cheese, too.

Dude has serious hand eye coordination, seemingly excellent anticipation, puts himself
in position to make the play, seemingly excellent awareness, and maybe not measurable
speed but looks "fast" on the field. Looks like a football player to me.

Love the fact Flores targeted this dude and kept in touch during the draft.

Excellent "recruiting" strategy knowing we'd target as UDFA.

I really liked what I saw on tape from him. I believe he wasn't 100% when he ran the 40(hammy) and you can see on tape he's not a slow player. Him and Preston Williams could be a couple of big steals if they can put it all together.

I’ll be surprised if he sees the field in any meaningful way other than on STs. Hope he proves me wrong.
