Texans fire Palmer

The Houston Texans fired offensive coordinator Chris Palmer on Monday following the team's second straight embarrassing loss.

Joe Pendry, the team's offensive line coach, was introduced as his replacement by coach Dom Capers Monday afternoon.

"We have not performed up to our expectations," Capers said. "We needed to make an adjustment to help us move forward in the direction we want to go."

Wasn't Pendry Miami's offensive line coach? Well the problem is right there. He'll get David Carr sacked 80 times this year.

Pendry was the Texans O-line coach. To me, this move makes no sense, and should be the reason Capers is axed at the end of the season.

As bad as Palmers playcalling is, you dont promote the guy responsible for the the worst line in the NFL

Casserly (GM) and Capers should both be fired. Casserly didnt put together a good team and Capers isnt getting the job done. They had a bunch of gift draft picks that expansion teams get and couldnt put together a good oline to protect a #1 overall draft pick? Stupid. This team is one of the worst teams in football right now, they look dejected and lost in Game 2. Thats absurd. Id be surprised if Capers makes it through the year.

Not sure how you make this move so early in the season. Seems like it either should have been made in the off-season or given some more time. The move is only likely to make the offense worse, not better the rest of the way.

I just don't get the logic in some of these decisions in terms of timing and such.

I think the Texans main problem is David Carr. He is one of the bottom 5 QB's in the NFL right now in my opinion. Your offense can only go as far as your QB will take them.

I literally laughed at my computer screen when i heard Chris Palmer got hired as offensive coordinator. I dont know who makes decisions down there in Houston, but whoever it is needs to be fired. Because they are wasting the talent they have, especially on offense.
