Texans | Casserly reportedly to re-sign; NFL position not a lock
Mon, 24 Apr 2006 17:13:35 -0700

According to FOXSports.com's John Czarnecki, Charley Casserly reportedly will resign as general manager of the Houston Texans, after the NFL Draft. However, an influential league source said Monday, April 24, there is no guarantee that Casserly will be offered the job as the NFL's director of football operations.

Now that's going to be interesting...

You should probably edit the title of the thread. Instead of resign it reads re-sign, which can be interpreted as signing another contract.

yea what he/she said

It's about time. Casserly has made some STUPID decisions in his time as the Texans GM. It's way past time for him to go. I wonder if they'll make Dan Reeves the new GM?

Quick list of Casserly moves:

- 2nd & 3rd round picks for Phillip Buchanon
- Trading back into the 1st round for Jason Babin
- Overpaying for Todd Wade
- Overpaying for Morlon Greenwood
- Overpaying for Sage Rosenfels
- NEVER doing anything about the Texans awful O-Line
- Signing Chester Pitts (OT) to big money extension
- Signing Kailee Wong (LB) to big money extension
- Losing out on signing Orlando Pace by being cheap

:dolphins: Bush will be a Texan!!! that willl save casserly

Casserly is in pretty much the same position as Rick Spielman was last year. The only difference is that the Texans are going to allow Casserly to "resign" instead of firing him.

Bush is the easy part of the draft. A monkey could pick Bush #1 overall. It's the rest of the draft that Casserly can't handle.

Hopefully they will let Gary Kubiak and Mike Sherman have the final say.
