if not he his free as a bird

I have read that the Texans have an $8 million dollar bonus they must pay David Carr before the end of the regular season or he becomes a free agent. If they do not pay the bonus, will he be a restricted or unrestricted free agent?

If the Texans don't pay the bonus before the end of the season, Carr would become an unrestricted free agent, and therefore be able to sign with any other team. Paying it on time would trigger a three-year extension of Carr's contract.

I hope we get him!!!

Well, I think that means the David Carr era in Houston is over. I definitely think we should seriously consider pursuing him during the offseason.

LYNARD SKYNARD Free As A Bird you got it!! but he will cost Miami a fortune???

why is everyone so high on Carr? He hasn't exactly proven anything (except that he can take a beating because he holds the ball for ever), has he?

I don't think they would pay that. They will probably let Carr walk(hopefully to Miami :D ) and then draft Leinart.

I already have a good prediction of what will happen to the Texans this offseason. Here is how I see the Texans offseason:

> Texans doesn't pay Carr, so he leaves.
> Carr signs with the Raider for a 4 year deal.
> The Texans gets a new HC.
>The Texans draft Matt Lienhart with the #1 overall pick in the draft.

I did have Carr go to the Cards, but it looks like that they are going after Culpepper.

i love it he takes a beating because he plays behind the worst oline ever assembled yet somehow its his fault.....im not sayin he doesnt take a small part of the blame ,but you put manning ,brady mcnabb or whoever behind that line and i guarantee you they have similar results

Carr is a decent QB. Problem is, he's gettin KILLED down there this year. Poor guy is the most sacked QB in the NFL. Its not him, its everything else. And I don't see the coach being there too much longer either.

What do you base that on?

David Carr holds onto the ball too damn long.

i'm not that immpressed with carr, but i agree if we decide not to draft a qb high.

yeah if the texans get the first pick i think carr is gone...
