The Texans are cutting a big-name veteran. Houston is releasing offensive tackle Matt Kalil, a source told Field Yates of ESPN.com (Twitter link).

According to Field Yates, the Texans have released OT Matt Kalil. Kalil was projected to be the Texans' starting left tackle until the trade for LT Laremy Tunsil. He was also dealing with an injury.
