Sorry if this is old news but it does considerably change things for the draft.

There's no way they resign Carr and pay him that kind of money if they WEREN'T going to take BUSH 1st overall.

That means that QB's won't start going off the board until the SECOND pick and who knows, maybe Cutler slides! (Wishful thinking!)

At least now I can stop reading those awful TRADE FOR CARR postings!

Go Phins!

As stupid an idea as I think it is, I could see Houston going after D'Brickshaw at #1.

It is older news, but I think it will have a minimal net effect. They were either gonna keep him or pick a high draft pick qb and release him, which would have put him in the available qb pool. Either way, they were going to take up one of the potentially avaible qbs. They've done that now, so one piece of the puzzle is in place. Carr is no longer an option, but Houston is one less team that's going to take a qb off the board. I think it's a wash.

IMO if Houston doesn't trade down to say 6-7 range and draft lineman with the extra picks they acquire then every upper management guy in that organization should be shot. They don't need Reggie Bush, they need someone to give a good QB some time to throw the ball.

I had heard that Houston announced they will take Bush with the 1st. But I am not sure myself, I was quite confused when they resigned Dominick Davis. Would be expensive to keep them both, and expensive to trade one. Seems like a strange situation.

Signing Carr has nothing to do with drafting Bush... it just means they wont be drafting a QB...

They will be trading down for D-Brick (if they dont... they are fools)

That's why I'm with some of the others who say that Texans will want to trade down, get Ferguson and pick up a couple of extra picks.

They just showed part of their hand (I guess they had to). I see Houston trying to trade down but being unable to. I think they might have to grab D-Brick #1.

I think D'Brick actually will go to Houston, just not necessarily at #1, and if they do take him #1 overall, I dont think it's that stupid of a move. They've been trying to shore up their LT woes since day one (literally...remember Boselli was their #1 pick in the expansion draft, the first of many bad moves and bad luck at that position) and they would be stupid to pass on THE premiere LT of this draft. They have a solid RB and a great return man, so there's no need to get Bush. That being said, I think they should continue to sell to the league that they'll be taking Bush #1 overall. Someone will trade up, and if they're lucky, it'll be someone else with a high pick (Jets maybe?) so they'll still have a shot at D'Brick.

True. I feel it would be stupid because they could pick him up later in the draft. Probably at 5th-6th pick. In the process they'd pay him less, and gain some additional picks/players.

If nobody bites on the Bush bluff, they just might have to take Ferguson at #1, though. It would be INCREDIBLY ballsy for them to draft Bush AFTER no good trades are offered (like the Chargers w/Manning a couple years ago), but they just might do that, too.
