First Round

1. Oakland Raiders- JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
Russell had a great pro day, which should solidify him as the number one pick. The only way Russell fails to go one is if Randy Moss is traded and then Calvin Johnson becomes an option. But even if Moss is traded, I believe the Raiders need to go with the franchise quarterback. Randy Moss could not do anything, so what makes Johnson capable of being any better? Russell is the only logical choice. But, I should warn you, Al Davis is not very logical.

2. Detroit Lions- Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
I have decided that Matt Millen is really not going to draft another high wide receiver. So this decision comes down to the franchise quarterback in Brady Quinn or the dominant left tackle in Joe Thomas. The Dre Bly trade in which the Lions received George Foster makes Thomas less of a need here. Also, Jon Kitna is the current quarterback. Wasn’t Kitna the current quarterback when the Bengals drafted Carson Palmer? And weren’t the Lions picking number two in that draft, the same as this one? It must not be coincidence, Quinn is the choice. 3. Cleveland Browns- Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
I keep wavering between Peterson and Joe Thomas, but I just think Peterson's talent is too great to ignore. Adrian Peterson is a superstar as long as he stays healthy. Peterson should have a successful transition to the NFL thanks to the signing of Jamal Lewis. Lewis will prevent Peterson from getting banged up like he did at Oklahoma.

4. TampaBay Buccaneers- Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
This decision should not take the whole fifteen minutes. I would say it should take fifteen seconds at the most. Johnson somehow falls to the lucky Bucs. Maybe losing that coin toss was not so bad. The Bucs still get their guy and pay him a little less money.

5. Arizona Cardinals- Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
This could be another no brainer pick. The only way Thomas does not go to Arizona is if Thomas is picked before #5. If Thomas goes before then, look for the Cardinals to draft Gaines Adams.

6. Washington Redskins- Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
This really is a choice between Adams and Alan Branch. Branch's weight and conditioning has been an issue, and there seems to be nothing wrong with Adams. Adams is more polished as an end than Mario Williams was out of college.

7. Minnesota Vikings- LaRon Landry, S, LSU
Jamaal Anderson seemed to be slotted at this pick, but Landry has had a great offseason, and really impress scouts with his 4.35 speed. By the way, he is a safety, not a cornerbak. Darren Sharper is getting up there an age, and Landry is just too good of a prospect to not take. Also, do not give up on Kenechi Udeze yet.
8. Atlanta Falcons- Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
The two players the Falcons covet in this draft are Calvin Johnson and LaRon Landry. With both of them off the board, and unless the Falcons trade up, the Falcons pick up Patrick Kerney's replacement. Anderson had an awesome season with 13.5 sacks, and looks to get only better.
9. Miami Dolphins- Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
Alan Branch or Levi Brown? Both guys are huge, just on different sides of the ball. The Dolphins have question marks at its LT position, but Branch playing the nosetackle in its 3-4 defense is very enticing. Alan Branch may have some conditioning issues, but so have other big tackles including Sam Adams. They fill holes, that is what they do.

10.
Houston Texas- Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
The Texans have really never had a franchise left tackle in its history. Tony Boselli was suppose to be the answer. The Texans need to protect its new quarterback Matt Schaub, or Schaub is going to figure out real quick why David Carr struggled.

Second Round

40. Miami Dolphins- Arron Sears, OT, Tennessee

60. Miami Dolphins (NE)- Ryan Free, OT, Northern Illinois

Third Round

71. Miami Dolphins- Josh Wilson, CB, Maryland

Hate the branch pick, like the Sears pick, don't know anything about Free or Wilson to form a fair opinion (although I'm not a big fan of 2 OTs in the same round)

I do not for one second believe that we'll ignore the QB spot like they're suggesting. I can't say just how shocked I will be if we don't draft a QB on day 1. Does anyone else think we won't draft a QB day 1?

Man, I would fly to Miami in riot in the streets if we skip QB AGAIN :fire:

I do, if the value doesn't lineup you don't do it. We have decent QBs and that's all you get the vast majority of the time you pick a QB in 3-4. Round 2 maybe, depending on who's there. Trent Edwards might be a nice fit with that 2nd 2nd rounder if he's there that is.

Sears would play guard.

That's true, but what I really meant was 2 OL period. Seems like we would be in position to get ONE of the many WR talents in the 1st 2 rounds there instead of taking two OLs. I say OL and WR in round 2

- First five picks will likely include one to two defensive picks and three to four offensive. Atleast one interior linemen (likely a true center) and one tackle/guard convert (Sears/Blalock or flat out Grubbs) will be picked.

Yup, Kevin Kolb at #60

We better not take offensive lineman in the second round. We have to addres our qb situation one way or another.Trade up to get quinn or take Kolb or Stanton in the second

Are you really convinced that Kolb and Stanton are better than Lemon? I'm not. Brady Quinn- no problem with taking him at #9 or trading up to get him. But unless Mueller/Cameron have a conviction on a QB to be taken that high (#40 or #60), I'd much rather have a quality WR or OL.

The only QB i really really like in this draft is quinn....

Maybe Edwards in the 3rd or 4th, but I pretty much agree with you. I'd rather not force a QB pick when OL and WR talent is abundant and can be had elsewhere. OL- Blalock, Grubbs, Alleman, Kalil, Free, Staley, Alleman, Datish, Sears, Ugoh, Satele, Beekman, Yanda.

WR- Rice, Smith, Meachem, Bowe, Jarrett, Gonzales (not a favorite of mine), Allison, Hill, Davis, Williams.

Some of these guys are going to be there when we make our 2 picks in the 2nd and our pick in the 3rd. I'd rather reload with quality here than reach on a QB out of desperation. Also, we almost have to draft quality OL after letting so many go this offseason. If we don't, we might be screwed.
