Thad Lewis to start... GASP

The site I use says winds at 10mph. Not bad at all.

I've seen them anywhere from 10mph all the way up to the lower 20's. I'm guessing it will be a consistent light wind with gusts up to 20mph. Not terrible by any means.

You can call me a downer, but if you watched Joe Philbin's presser leading up to the Pittsburgh game he states how WIND is the biggest issue that messes up an offense. Not frozen precip or cold air.

I am not sure where people are getting there weather, but this weather.com

They are calling for HEAVY rain and windy.

You can call me "negative" all you want, but I am reading the stinking weather forecasts and it is not conducive to way the Dolphins play football. It helps the Bills much more.

If it's in the low 20's it won't rain it will snow. I also think you may be looking at the low temp for that day. Everywhere I look now say a high of around 45º with an 80% chance of rain and a total accumulation of only 1". Not to shabby for the end of December.

Only on finheaven will you find someone look at a forecast low for the day and expect that to be the temp at 1pm.

The temp will be warm, but (again) watch the wind forecast. Plus, at RWS it can be even windier.

Using a forcast nearly a week before the game is useless too.

Weather changes hourly..

I agree with that esp. in that part of the country. However, to be fair to me, it also can get worse.

I remember the Dolphins game up in Buffalo in 1999. The weather looked "okay" leading up to the game and on game day the entire prediction was wrong. It was grey, dark, rainy and windy. Jimmy Johnson's group had no chance and the Bills ran the Fins out of the building. I know it is a long time ago. However, I will never forget how the weather got worse and worse that day in way nobody expected.

If we don't come out of Buffalo 9-6 we don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

That is not fair to say though. The Bills beat the Ravens and have played almost everyone tough. They are better at home than on the road. The loss in Miami is the unforgivable one. However, if they don't win, I do not think they get in at this point. Huge game.

Good point.

Also, I am still not buying Stevie Johnson will not play. He is a gamer and might find some solace being on the field after his difficult loss.

not worried about stevie johnson. More worried about the two speedsters.

I've looked at all of those and from what I can tell is that they are all predicting something a little different as far as precip totals and the upper wind speeds.. As far as the wind its gonna matter what time the front moves through. Its always more windy before the front arrives. Hopefully that is before game time. We won't get a real weather forecast until probably Saturday night. Also I never let the weather terrorists get me riled up. They always predict the weather to the greatest extreme.

I hope you are right. I do not want weather conditions to alter the game.

The trend has been it keeps getting warmer with less precipitation, I think the trend is more important than the actual forecast for longterm forecasts.

The week long forecast before the Jets game was really nasty but as the week went on the forecast got better and better and it turned out to be a great day for football.

Hopefully my local forecast gets nastier though so my dinner plans get cancelled and I can stay home and watch the game. Stupid holidays.

True fan! Im pulling for you!

I don't think bad weather necessarily hurts the Dolphins here. Worst case scenario is that Buffalo is incredibly energized for the game and beats us up physically, like the way they played the first two and a half quarters of the Chiefs game until the Sean Smith interception return changed everything. That was the best stretch of football from the Bills all season. They nearly carried an inept quarterback to victory.

And you can't mirror a performance like that if your defensive line is slogging around and can't dominate. The Bills have a significant home anti-revenge energy advantage to open this game but in poor conditions it can be largely nullified.

Philbin seems like the type who could use proper strategy if conditions are extreme, like a choice of when to take the wind.

Overall I'd prefer to face Lewis. Manuel can look bad then make plays down the field. Big tough guy who is hard to bring down. Lewis is one of those guys who is clever and smart and can scramble and burn you in a limited area but it seldom translates to big plays or high point production. I remember one game against the Canes at Sun Life in which he was annoying as heck for three quarters then the game turned into a big rout, simply because he didn't take advantage of scoring opportunities and then had some key turnovers late.
