Thank the football gods for Nick Saban

After reading this article I had to sigh and thank the football gods we don't have to put up with the coach formerly known as wanny!

I've said it before. It was the best off season the Dolphins have had since Marino was drafted out of Pitt. Ronnie Brown was very nice but Saban was so huge. He's a Belichik diciple who's as cold and calculating and as intelligent. This Miami/Patriots rivalry is bound to reach epic levels.

It's 1 game, let him do something before you start thanking the football Gods. He's off to a great start but a long way to go.

It's not that we won the game just read the article and remember all the hardheadness that wanny displayed while he was here. Saban is just a breathe of fresh air.

Wanny wasn't always bad. He led you to double digit wins in 3 of his first 4 years and he improved from the JJ era. No coach could have saved last year's team.

He is doing what JJ and Wanny could not do...inspiring the players and getting them to believe in his system.

His wins were a by product of a good defense. Jay Fiedler to his credit had Ricky Williams and a dominate defense. You'll see when Jay starts for Chad how bad jay "noodle arm" Fiedler is.

Jay didn't have Ricky his first 2 years when he led you to a division title then a WC berth, when he had Ricky you did not make the playoffs and that was largely b/c Jay was hurt alot those 2 years.

Good then why don't you lobby for the Jets organization to go after Wannstedt since you have this crush on him so bad...

"No coach" would have let the team get that bad. Thank god we have "know coach" now.

I know you're a good football fan, junc. I know you're smart enough to know an intelligent coach when you see one. I also know that you can't honestly tell me that you think Saban isn't one of the smartest coaches you've seen so far. If you think you can say that, you aren't paying close enough attention, and thus your opinion is void.

Saban is not just another blowhard HC, the guy is scary smart and I think you're in denial. I mean think about it, you're trying to say that Wanny could be anywhere near the coach that Saban already is. Just with that right there I could potentially get you committed, to keep you from being a danger to yourself. :)

He'll probably be free soon too after the bang up job he's doing in Pitt.

Typical Jet fan stat citing. 3 double digit win seasons in 4 years. Just like Herm's playoff appearances. The real barometer of a coach's sucesses or failures is how they prepare their team and perform in the big games on the bigeest of stages. All of those cupcake wins in October and Nov are nice but their soft lobs. Saban excelled at Michigan St. and then fine tuned is craft at LSU and it's only a matter of time before he masters the NFL coaching position. That 3 out of 4 stuff sounds like Dan Duquette citing the Red Sox spent more days in first place than any team over a three year stretch. Who cares!!!! What have you done in the post season! Herm took a knee and ran the clock down on the road to set up a low probability field goal attempt. The results were predictable.... See my Avatar if still confused. For a guy who preaches "you play to win the game" Herm certainly strayed from that in Pitt. In no other sport is coaching as critical than football and without good coaching your pissing into the wind....

I don't want him we have a good coach but you guys act like you had a scary talented team that was held back by Wanny. Like if you had a decent coach you would have won 3 SB's.

Jim Bates seemed to do a pretty decent job of it....ask the Super Bowl Champs about that one. Injuries and Ricky really hurt this team last year...but it really seems like now that Dave W just would not make many adjustments. It was like a whole different team with Jim Bates at the helm. So yeah I'll thank whoever I have to thank for Saban.
