Thank You Mr. Ricky Williams

Your forgetting to thank Wanny. He helped too.

lol, I think I have a hard time thanking Wanny, (since he was the source of the problem)

I do thank him however for moving on to U. Pitt

In light of this new Ricky news, I thought I'd bump this thread and remind everyone that what Ricky did was really a blessing in disguise and how he helped us to get this great new head coach, great new staff, a #2 overall pick, and finally rid of Wannstedt, and Fiedler.

Again, we should be praising Ricky not chewing him out

If it wasn't for you, We would have had another 9-7 season, and Wanny would still be our coach, and that ugly cycle would have just continued, for who knows how long!! :D

Now things are looking soooooo much more positive! Great New Head Coach, a great Staff being put together, and the draft and FA has yet to begin!!!

Once again, Thanks!

Exactly....sometimes you have to take a step back to move two forward. Wanny would never have gotten us to the BIG DANCE....ane neither would have Jay Fiedler. Saban is cleaning house and putting the puzzle together piece by piece....we may go 8-8 or 9-7 next year but I think we can compete for the division and maybe for a SB in the next 2-3 years. :)

Maybe that was Ricky's plan and now he's ready to come back!

Look, Ricky quitting did help to lead to those things- but I'm still not going to praise this a--hole for what he did. Some of you have really lost perspective and I'm blown away that this many fans want him back after what he pulled. :shakeno:

Yeah, right it was his "plan".:shakeno: Let's not give Ricky too much credit, eh?

Um...... I was being sarcastic.

Oh, okay. People say some dumb things on here, so it's hard to tell sometimes.
I totally agree with you there.:D

Say Ricky played and we went 8-8 which I think is a stretch,

Wanny would have still been fired and we still would have had Saban

We would have our 3rd rounder for Gordon

Since they say this draft is deep but with no superstar players our 15th pick would still get us a quality starter.

We would not pick a running back with our #2 pick

So overall the difference is

If Ricky stayed we have 1 first and 2 thirds

Without Ricky we have 1 third (since the first is going to be used to replace him)

I think Wannstedt may have been fired if we did not make the playoffs, even if he did go 9-7. So I'm not sure Ricky did anything there except help force Wannstedt's resignation mid-season.

BUT, I also truly believe that Saban would not have taken over this team if it had just gone 9-7 or 8-8 and barely missed the playoffs. So, what I believe we can thank Ricky Williams for, is getting Nick Saban interested in the Dolphins enough to join. Saban really wanted to take over the dolphins because they were a team with a lot of success historically speaking, with a good owner, and the team was down in the cellar for one season for the first time in a while. After a cellar-dwelling season, the fans will accept a whole lot more drastic changes than they will when the team is considered to be "close" and just needs a few "tweaks" Nick Saban is not a Phil Jackson, who looks to take teams that are close and do the impossible putting them over the top. Saban is a Parcells: take over a losing team, and re-make the whole fricking thing in your image.

So really, the overall difference is with Ricky we'd have a mid-first rounder and 2 third rounders, and a non-Saban coach instead of the #2 overall, one third rounder, and Nick Saban.

I'll take that deal. Thank you Ricky
