saw some good and the usual not so good yesterday...haven't reviewed the tape yet, but here's what stood out.

- we finally ran some spread draws (shotgun) and both of them resulted in nice gains. the first on 2nd and 10 went for 7 yards and the other on 2nd and 7 went for 27 yards. that's 34 yards on 2 runs from shotgun. we don't have 34 yards on what seems like 20 runs so far this season from mularky's jumbo sets. maybe that will set off a lightbulb in his head.

- travis daniels either wasn't ready to come back or just isn't fast enough to play corner in the NFL. the swift-footed drew bennett had daniels beat several times yesterday by a yard or more. thankfully collins couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat or bennett would have torched us and the titans would have won. on the int, daniels was again trailing and would have easily been beaten by a good throw.

- daunte culpepper has got to start throwing the ball downfield and completing some of them too. our running game isn't threatening anyone and neither is our vertical passing game. so far all we are as an offense is 3 yard runs and checkdown passes.

- as a whole i thought the D played well and bailed out a sluggish offense yesterday with 3 turnovers. i don't think we're going to dominate anyone defensively but this unit has the ability to give us a chance every week no matter who we play if the offense can put some points on the board.

-ronnie runs as hard as any back in the league. it's frustrating because guys are always getting clean shots on him. the o line has to be more disruptive and force guys to make off-balance tackles and tackle from behind. too many guys are running free and ronnie is taking a beating. he's dishin' it out too, but you better believe he's feelin' it today.

-our ineffective blitz is still, well, pretty much our ineffective blitz. its funny though because i think it's what actually got us the first INT yesterday. i'll have to go back and look but i believe zach got stone walled on his blitz so is just standing there and catches the collins duck caused by JT hitting him. so i guess that one worked out though it wasnt how they drew it up lol.

that's all for now kids...atleast we were able to get a win and hopefully this will give the guys some confidence to build on. it's still just a matter of getting more production from the QB and a better offensive scheme by mularky. there's still hope...

i have seen enough NFL games in 35 years to say teams change week to week so i dont think any win is better then another they all count

And I've seen enough football in 35 years to say that even though a win may be a win, the manner in which you play is often very telling.

hey whatever you gotta tell yourself to make it through the day...

jets 302pass 91rush 393total 23 pts
sd 235pass 241rush 476total 40 pts
fins 130pass 159rush 289total 13 pts

we put 13 points on a team that had given up 63 points it's first 2 games. :shakeno:

that brings our grand total for the season to 36. 36 friggin points in 3 games.

12 points a game with chambers booker mc brown and culpepper? how does that make sense? we had 68 points through 3 games last year with gus frerotte as our qb vs a tougher schedule too.

re:

There are four teams in the NFL you can play like that and beat. Tennessee is thankfully one of them.

Oakland, Houston, and right now, Tampa Bay are the other ones.
