Talked to somoene I know from the days when I used to run a Fins website, anyway strong rumor is Miami might get a home game on Thanksgiving night. It was a RUMOR for years that if the NFL ever added a 3rd Thanksgiving day game it would be in Miami. NFL decided to rotate it and give it to KC first because of Lamar Hunt and how he faught for the game for years!!!! So, Miami might get the 2nd ever Thanksgiving night game at home. That is what the leauge is thinking anyway.

Other rumor is now with Porter in Miami they might do Miami at Pitt as that Thanksgiving night game.

Don't be shocked to see Miami involved in a Thanksgiving night game this year though in some way shape or form.

All rumor but my source is pretty reliable on this stuff.

Thanks for the info but games like this kill my holiday!. MY brother is a huge Steeler fan and we wanted to go last year but it was the opening night and the tickets were crazy. So we were going to try again this year...if its on Thanksgiving...forget it!

That would be great. I wonder though two things with that. Since we just played in one this past year, does that hurt our chances? We know that Det and Dal always go their games on Thanks. We obviously won't play det this year, perhaps we might go to Dallas ? I think we play the NFC East this year, right? I also don't think we can play at Pitt since we went to Pit this past season. And with us playing in the "overseas" game, I'm not sure the networks are going to want to give us that much air time. But it still would be nice to see.
:D

Hmmm.....interesting.

I could see the league going to something like that. With the way games have been being moved around on Sundays, I do not see that being outside of the realm of possibility. Would be nice to see the Dolphins on turkey day!

Thanks for the info MikeO.

But now I would like to voice my opinion on this possibility. First, if we are going to play on Thanksgiving it should, without question, be a home game. Why? We are already losing a home game by going to England. Second, we played Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh just last year. Time for the Steelers to make the trip instead of us (although its confirmed to be a road game which I think is crap). We should not have to play a road game on Thanksgiving after a trip to England against a team we've had to play on the road two years in a row. If the rumor above turns out true, I will be infuriated.

The home and away part is already established...The Pitt game is an away game for us...that can not be changed.

2 points

1. Dallas plays at Miami so that game is a no go
2. The Miami Giants game will be played at 1 Eastern so it will not be like a Sunday or Monday night game

You're right without question. I had to change my words at mid-thought. But do you see my point? In my opinion, the real reason the Jets went to the Playoffs last year was because they had a cake walk at the end of the year. We were not ready for the playoffs granted (down to the third string QB). But that is what it came down to which is why I hate getting screwed later in the year.

I was about to say that. I would love to have a Thanksgiving game, the England game, a Monday Night Football game, and all the playoffs games we can. Let us remember for the 2006 season we had the Kickoff game, the Thanksgiving game and a MNF game as well, I think. So I believe anything is possible.

How does getting a 10-day break going into the last month of the regular season constitute a screwing? :ninja:

Hey if your happy playing Pittsburgh on the road two years in a row and putting your players on the road on Thanksgiving (which from my observations they hate) two years in a row, Kudos. You have a lot of faith in our newly rebuilt team (more like team under construction).

I'm also talking about strength of opponent late in the year and we will aready be playing 8 games against playoff teams from last year. How many of those will be late in the year?

This was from last year:
The records of AFC East (outside of New England because they already locked) opponents going into the last six games of the year. As you can see the only team that went to the playoffs was the Jets. Coincidence??
