We got rid of Suh with tons of dead money on his contract, got rid of Landry, and were relying on rookies to come in and fill pivotal roles in the defense. This roster just isn't, and wasn't, that great.
Miami came into the season and overachieved, got lucky with opposing teams' injuries, got a few lucky penalty calls, and had multiple insanely well-timed turnovers on defense to flip flop games, all to barely end up 3-0. It's not like we were dominating anybody.
Now we go through a spree of games where the Patriots bulldoze us with the help of a bunch of Zebras on BB's payroll(not that they needed them), we rack up a ton of injuries to our most important players, and the ball stops bouncing our way, and so many fans are shocked that we aren't wnining anymore.
I get the disappointment towards Gase and Burke, because I'm not particularly happy with their attitude towards game and team management either, but let's not act like they betrayed us by losing with some stellar roster line-up. We've got bums out there and they are doing exactly what they should be expected to. Lose horribly.
If you force a full rebuild at this point (though our roster rebuild should have started this last off-season if we hadn't torpedoed all of our resources) what are possible coaching candidates going to think? They get no benefit of the doubt, get set up for failure, get blasted by the media who is overly vicious towards everything Miami for whatever reason, and then get kicked out before even getting a chance to do anything.
