If we miss playoffs by a game that will be the game that keeps us out. Right now that's the game that's keeping me up at night. The lions and broncos games were gut punch losses but they were both on the road against really good teams. No shame in losing those games and we went toe to toe with them.

The packers game we had won. We dominated that 2nd half, similar to pats game. At home up 4 with the ball and a chance to run the clock out. And even when we didn't all we had to do was keep them out of the end zone. We force a fumble but can't recover, we give up a 4th and 10 conversion, we fail to make a tackle inbounds that would have ended the game, and we leave wheeler 1 on 1 last play of game. What a clusterfck to lose that game. When I'm watching the playoffs while the dolphins are sitting home again I'll be thinking of the packer game.

I see that game as the eye opener. We were defeated in the last seconds. That SHOULD have pushed this team and coaching staff to NOT let that happen again. But it did with Dteroit and Denver.
The old saying fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice (three times?) shame on me.
So to me the Lions and Broncos game were worse, because we knew better. We just didn't do anything about it.

Agreed, the Packers loss is the one that still ticks me off. Stupid kodaking!!!

I don't look at the Denver game as the same as Detroit and GB. Denver, the defense allowed a 22-0 run in the 4th qtr. They were just all around bad, all game long. VS Detroit and GB, the defense couldn't hold the last drive.

That's what makes the NFL so awesome. If your team is good it makes you as a fan feel good. If your team has chances to be a good team and they get so close to it but can't pull through, it feels like a repeated nut-punch and it stays with you until free agency and the draft.

Miami lost to GB just like they lost to Detroit... they had the lead, but with no dominating running game to easily convert 3rd downs and kill the clock they had to punt it back to the opponent. When Miami runs well, they usually win. But, Philbin/Lazor keep going away from the run, even when it's working. Denver kept at the run, and got 200 yards with backup RBs. Miami gave the ball to Miller 12 times. Denver played physical and tough, while Miami went with finesse. Guess what Coach Philbin, finesse isn't racking up the wins, is it?

Players blew those two games... D in particular... guys have to tackle and cover... coaches cant

Tough losses to GB and Detroit.....no question. However our future is still in our own hands....

Same as last year with the Panthers game. We let them convert 4th and 10 and march right down for a TD. Same story different year. Also same thing with the Lions game and that TD pass was right on the button to win the game. Pats score non stop on them and we can't break 17 pts.

The KC loss is far more significant. NFC games count as wins and losses obviously but have no tie break implications.

Ever since Philbin and Coyle took over, this defense must have set a record of allowing 1st downs on 3rd or 4th and long. 3rd and 22? Odds are that Miami will give up a 23 yard run. 3rd and 6, 7, or 8 yards? No problem; Coyle has the CBs 10 yards off the line of scrimmage for an easy conversion. IMO, Coyle is not a good DC.

I'd like to see our CBs more physical in the first 5 yards. You can still bump the receiver in that area, but our coaches must not know that. I believe Fox knew it because on the Int, Landry was jammed at the line.
