and cost us 3 points... just wanted to vent and get some other thoughts...being a former DB the call was terrible when I saw the replay. Lokked like great coverage

Guess who was the ref? Ed I don't what know what to do Hakuli

This is getting ridiculous with Hoculi. This was almost the second time he cost just us a game, let alone other teams (*cough*San Diego*cough*). He couldn't even remember who the penalty was on an earlier Raiders penalty. He called the PI penalty on Jason Allen and he wasn't anywhere near him.

actually it was the back judge who threw the flag, we had a perfect view from about 10yds in front. still, i thought it was a pretty weak call.

Shows your football knowledge, when you blame the ref for calling a pass interference call which was 50 yards away from him. Hulk a lee had nothing to do with it.

Weak call, but JA's gotta be smarter than that. You can't cut in front of the WR like that. It's going to get yellow every time.

Are you serious about this? You can't cut in front of the WR?? I think that's kind of ridiculous. If you beat your man down the field, you deserve to catch the ball.

Dude...It's just about what's going to draw a flag. If you cut in front of the WR and impeed his progress towards the ball while it's within the relm of possibility it's going to get caught, it will draw a flag. I'm not saying it's right....I'm just saying it's going to draw a flag.

It was Bell who committed the "penalty". Allen was a step behind, but they called his number. And it was bogus. If Lelie had cut Bell off, it wouldn't have been offensive pass interference. When the ball is thrown, the team on offense loses possession while the ball is in the air. Any eligible receiver is free to make a play on the ball, and every defender is an eligible receiver. Bell had just as much right to go after that pass as Lelie, and he was clearly attempting to make a play on the ball and not simply interfering with the receiver, so any contact was incidental. May as well call interference when a DB steps in front of a pass to make an interception if you're going to call the game this way.

Now that I think about this further, and believe me, I understand your point, I want to say that Bell put his arm in front of the defender on the play and that's how he got a step or two ahead. Do you think maybe that's why the called the PI instead of the DB straight up beating out the WR?

As another poster quite rightly pointed out, it wasn't JA, it was Bell....At any rate, it appeared to me as Bell looked at the WR, and cut in front of him to cut off his progress towards the ball. It was a shifty move, and, he never looked at the WR, keeping his head back towards the ball. Again, I'm not saying it's right but the refs are going to give that call to the WR every time.

It was Bell that cut the reciever off, Allen was erroneously called. All the same, very weak call. Bell was playing the ball all the way through and didnt even look at the reciever...

When I saw Hokuli was reffing our game, I said to myself and my wife.. "Oh No!!!" I hope to god, for footballs sake, that crew is not chosen to ref any playoff games.

I was watching on..Well, not the greatest venue....At any rate, yes, it was in fact Bell. I'm not argueing that it was a weak call. It was. You just have to know what's going to get yellow and what's not. That play is going to draw a flag 9/10 times.

I agree, in that that play, whether good or bad will get flagged 90% of the time. The officiating overall this year has just been horrible, and what is laughable is when that doosh Mike Perera gets on total access and tries to justify his acceptance of all these bad calls... even the blatantly bad ones.. "I want that called everytime".. is his answer for everything
