OK, I going to have to admit that I may have jinxed Ryan Tannehill. Several weeks ago I mentioned on this forum that Ryan was approaching a milestone. After the Cleveland win Ryan had accounted for 98 TD's in his career and needed 2 more to join Marino and Griese and the only other Dolphin players to account for triple digit TD's.
Last week I attended the Thursday night game in Cincinnati and had upper level front row seats. Before the game I painted a pillow sheet as sign to honor Ryan's 100th TD. I assumed I would get to see it happen at the game and unveil the banner when it happened. On the 2nd offensive play of the game Ryan hit Stills for the long TD and #99 was in the books. Just a matter of time now I thought. But then the slump started. No TD's for the rest of the game and in fact not too many first downs.
I brought the banner home and figured I would be able to waive it this week against the Titans in my living room. It almost happened late in the second half but the play got called back for penalty and we had to settle for a FG. We would never threaten again. So Ryan remains stuck at 99 TD's
In Ryan's career he has accounted for a TD about every 41 minutes of game time. It has now been almost 120 minutes since he last accounted for a TD. Long drought and right at #99
Here is the banner that may have started the jinx
Now question is what should I do with it?
Burn it or keep it for next week.
Let me know what you think.
