So I was listening to the radio this evening after the game and the guys were saying how stupid the 2-point "trickeration" play was. Their line of reasoning was (almost a direct quote, I believe): "You have to go to your bread and butter play. You have to run something that's guaranteed."
The problem is, this year, there IS NO "bread and butter" play. There IS NOTHING that's "guaranteed."
The play didn't work, but I still like the call. I think with this team, there needs be a lot more "trickeration." People say that Ronnie needs to be running more, and maybe that's true, but up to this point he hasn't really shown much overall. Giving him more carries might just get us a lot more "not much."
Especially at this point, I would say just cut it all loose. There's talent on this team, and it isn't gelling together, so why not just uncage it? Maybe these particular guys on this particular team just need a new attitude- i.e. a "who gives a &@!$" attitude. Just let them play.
