Enough about Culpepper, we all know how horrible he looks right now. I want to talk about another problem, and that's the 2006 re-shuffled OL....

First off, I want to know who's great idea it was to shuffle this OL during the off-season in the first place, and then I want that person held accountable for the current collapse we're experiencing. This OL was suppose to be stronger, and yet it's given up 10 sacks in just two weeks!! Not only that, there hasn't been any running lanes for Brown to get through either.....

Bottom Line : Don't drag me out into the streets, but after the 2006 season, this OL needs to be completely rebuilt in my opinion. Honestly, I can't think of one player worth keeping....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

vernon carey is worth keeping imo. but none of them are irreplacable. they have let us down big time, where is houcks magic touch with these guys...

Please, Carey stinks. He's a "borderline bust" if you ask me, and certainly wasn't worth a first round pick....

I think the only one I'd keep, and he's not playing very well at the moment, is Rex Hadnot. He's a very solid OG, and we should move him back there in 2007...

PHINZ RULE!!!!

i agree hadnot is a mess at center. i liked the combination of him and james at the guard slot, pulling and getting to the second level.

Hudson Houck, one of the best O-line coaches in the league, shuffled the O-line.

1) Vernon Carey does not stink. Watch the film, he is the best o-lineman on the team.

2) LJ Shelton is not playing as bad as everyone thinks. If you think we are just going to get a franchise left tackle off the street you are kidding yourselves. The Phins gave LJ a 3 million signing bonus which is very low for a LT. LJ is adequate at the left tackle position.

3) After watching TIVO, I think we need to improve our guards. They can't move the DT's consistently off the line of scrimmage. Rex Hadnot is fine a center.

4) If we cut down on mistakes, our line play will be better. Not great but better. There have been a lot of screwups in the first 2 weeks.

There will be no overhaul of O-line in offseason. I agree that we need atleast 2 upgrades on the line though (LG and RG)

I Agree he was not worth a first round pick, but Carey should be kept.
The only people on our line worth keeping so far are Hadnot and Carey.
I think Mcintosh and Shelton are salvageable and beyond these guys would definately cut my losses. James got a fat contract and has performed like a street free agent. We have ignored the line for far too long. I still wish we had traded down and took Justice who athletically is superior to any lineman we currently have. Here is an idea when we draft projects, they get special six year contracts at developmental pay, that way they dont sit the bench for three years here, just to develop and play elsewhere.

I think Houk's impact has been vastly overrated.

AAAACHEWWWW!!!....Sorry, I'm allergic to BS.....

Simply stated, Carey has been nothing but a disappointment thus far. After two full seasons, he can't even find his true position yet. That's because he's not good enough to start anywhere, and have the kind of consistancy needed to be successful. He's still a work in progress, and that's being kind in my opinion....

There will be no overhaul of O-line in offseason.

If that's the case, expect more of the same in 2007....

Carey was solid and his heads up play was the reason that Buffalo wasn't up 7-0 after Daunte's second fumble. He singlehandedly stole that ball from 2 or 3 Bills players.

Nothing but a dissappointment is ridiculous. Carey played well last year and has been the most consistent lineman on the team this year.

You are basing your opinion on emotion and not on rationally watching the games.

I am as dissappointed as the next guy and I think we have to upgrade a couple of guys. But an overhaul is unrealistic.

I think you should provide us w/ your overhaul plan of the O-line so we can see how you would do it.

How are you going to acquire a Franchise Left Tackle and upgrades over all of what we have and still fit under the Salary Cap?

So, let me get this straight... you're angry about the O-line being reshuffled during the offseason... but now you're calling for it to be reshuffled in the next offseason, which isn't until next March.

... Okaaaaay.

I do agree that for where Carey was drafed , he has been a dissapointment but at least he has shown signs of being a decent player. He will never be a left tackle like some projected but he could be a decent tackle or maybe a good guard.

While I disagree that our line needs to be TOTALLY rebuilt, there definitely needs to be an infusion of new talent.

First of all, to try to go get 5 new linemen would be a rash and IMO a bad decision. Not all 5 are horrible. I have not watched any film to really evaluate, but I am sure there are some who have. Besides, to try to get 5 new lineman... the odds of getting 5 that are better than the current 5, is low. IMO, you don't see many GOOD olineman changing teams in the offseason, so to try to get 5... is TOO many.

Our oline got better as the year went on last year, so I am hoping it gets better the more games they play this year.
