I've been reading about it and its pretty interesting. I know some of our problems against the Steelers had to do with players not being full familiar wih the scheme, but I think it is going to pretty amazing when every one is up to speed. That said, does anyone have any good articles or sites that explain it in depth. And, how long have the Pats and Steelers been runnning it? One other thing I noticed. One of the great things about the 3-4 is that you don't know which linebacker is gonna blitz you. Do you think it hurts us that team know JT as a linebacker is gonna blitz? Maybe they will expect him to blitz and we can use this to our advantage. Anyway, its gonna be cool to watch it play out this season.

Well, in week 1 Jason Taylor blitzed from pretty much everywhere. He lined up at both DE positions, two or three LB positions and... I might be wrong here, but he might have been lined up at DT on one play?
He also dropped into coverage once or twice, he's usually the guy I keep an eye on. Sometimes he covers tight ends or running backs coming out of the backfield.

Yeah, I read that they dropped him into coverage a few time just to keep the steeler offense honest.

I dont know that the problems really had to do with players not familiar with the scheme. The front-7 did a fine job. It was the secondary, which really doesnt have alot to do with 4-3 or 3-4, and more zone or man, etc. and so on.

As for sites or articles that can explain it in depth...This one. I'd be happy to answer whatever questions you have, and there are a handful of other guys here who can tell you whatever.

I dont think Jason Taylor being our best blitzer hurts us. There are plenty of 3-4 OLB's who are rush-first, to the point of almost being stand-up defensive ends. Miami would surely like an OLB opposite of him who can rush the passer and cause a little more fear from a blitz on that side, though.
