We all know who the 3 rookie head coaches that are Belicheck Disciples... Saban, Crennel, and Charlie Wies. Ya I know Wies is in NCAA, but he is still a rookie head coach and Belichick disciple.

Now, out of the 3, who do you think will do well and who wont? IMO Saban and Wies will succeed and Crennel will fail. Does anyone else have this feeling? I just get a feeling from Saban and Wies that I dont get from Crennel. Im not sure what it is... but I just dont feel the same fire, intensity, or desire for perfection from Crennel that I get from Belicheck, Saban, and Wies.

Does anyone else get that impression? I cant comment on his actual coaching so far (I havent really watched a Browns game...) but I have seen many of his press conferences on the NFL Network. That is the impression that I have got from Crennel... anyone agree or disagree?

Crennel is more of a player's coach. My dad lives on the KY/Ohio border and he says that all the media talks about (besides the Bengals) is that the players love Crennel and that they relate to him very well. I think he carries all the same tools as the other two. I agree though, Saban and Weis seems to have more fire. In my opinion, same end, different means.

I disagree. While it might be true that Crennel doesn't have as much fire as a Weiss or a Saban, i find it hard to believe that in a few years Crennel wont have some strong defensive players in there really helping that Cleveland team turn respectable. The players do love him, and i think in the end that is going to help him win their respect to a point where they will play extremely well for him. Now, it's going to be tough for Crennel to fix that Cleveland team, and maybe he wont get the job done as well as people might like. But that is a god awful team in Cleveland, and i'd be shocked if Crennel doesn't have the Browns at 500. in the next 2 seasons.....

I'm not so sure I'd call Saban one of his disciples. Let's not forget who called who for advice and ideas until Saban landed his own NFL team.

i would agree with that, saban was with cleveland while bellychick was busy destroying their franchise, i don't believe that saban plans to do the same.

weis was the offense of the Pats, the vanilla offense that belly is calling now should be obvious to everyone. run dillon, run dillon, brady pass, punt

I don't see either Weiss or Crennel having the same tools as Nick Saban, they may end up being average to good head coaches but Saban I think will end up in Canton.:shakeno:

Iowa HC Kirk Ferentz was a part of that Cleveland Browns staff too, wasn't he?

Soon after Bellicheck won his first SB, one of the magazines (SI I think) had a piece on how Bellicheck made Parcels and not the other way around. According to the article Parcels' has a lossing record when BB isn't his DC. As time goes this seems to be more and more true.

Saban is NOT a Bellicheck disciple. Just because he worked with him does not make him under him in the family tree of coaching.

i would be interested in bellychicks record without weis as his off coordinator. counting when he was destroying the browns franchise it was probably a losing record as well.

If you want to get technical, they are all Parcells disciples (including BB)...but you point is well taken...Crennel has the disadvantage of having a weaker FO and ownership, so yes, he stands the chance of being less successful there vs. Saban or Weis.

i went ahead and looked it up.

belly without weis 38-46 1-1 in the playoffs

belly with weis 53-27 9-0 in the playoffs

wow

I actually like how Cleveland is playing w/ Crennel. Don't count him out.
