... with Stan Kroenke. However, it's pretty amazing that if you add Stan's and Steve's net worths, they still total less than Paul Allen's!

And if you stop to think about it, , now with the purchase of the Bills, 3 of the 7 are actually in our division!!!

Oh and for anyone wishful thinking that he might ever sell the team because the real estate market went south and he'll need the money, don't hold your breath. LOL

This was significant 2 years ago when Mr Ross made the decision to significantly upgrade the stadium and found the $500M+ largely from his own pocket. In comparison the fans of their teams in San Diego, Oakland and St Louis were not so fortunate. I really feel for the San Diego Chargers fans who are losing their team because their billionaire owner has been too cheap to finance a solution and keep the team in San Diego. Conversely, the poor Rams fans in St Louis lost their team because Kroenke was too eager to exploit the relocation opportunities of Los Angeles. That could have been us if our owner was just driven by maximizing financial opportunities. Thank you Stephen Ross.

I have dogged the man pretty hard, but I will give credit where credit is due. I still disagree with the gimmicks to lure people to the stadium, but he has learned that if you win, they will come. I can't argue with the fact that he has put his money where his mouth is. Keep them in South Florida where they belong.

i have to agree. Just think, it wasn't that long ago he had to resort to "Tim Tebow" day just to fill the stands.

A conservative guess that those 7 have more wealth than 90% of the rest of the country. Combined.

He didn't do that. Marketing people are employed to come up with these sort of ideas. Mr Ross probably was probably informed after they had their plan together.
BTW - have you noticed the improvement in all of the Dolphins marketing since Tom Garfinkel was recruited as President and Chief Executive Officer? The team upgrade has also occurred in the business side of the Miami Dolphins.

Dean Spanos has offered $400 million dollars since early 2000's for a new stadium, he has been pushing for something since late 90's. The people responsible for this is city government which would not move the Chargers from Mission Valley and took the threats of moving lightly.

That stadium is an absolute dump and I've seen high school stadiums with better scoreboards and amenities that that place. I feel bad for San Diegan's it's a classy bunch, but their government screwed them over!

I've witnessed it as having lived there the past 15 years, just moved east to Jacksonville FL last month.

Spike you are way off on your knowledge of the Spanos family, that family's roots are so entrenched in to San Diego and they are always taking care of community and donating to civic causes...
Some owners may be cheap and I get San Diegan's are pissed at them, but to say he's cheap is ignorant and foolish.

I respect your opinion but at the end of the day Spanos is a billionaire who didn't spend the money to build a decent stadium in San Diego. The Wilfs found the money in Minneapolis. Arthur Blank found the money in Atlanta. Robert Kraft found the money in Foxboro. Jerry Jones found the money in Dallas. Stephen Ross found the money in Miami. But Dean Spanos didn't find the money - he tried to get the votes for the tourists to pay for a stadium that he would be the beneficiary, but the voters overwhelmingly defeated his proposal and now he decides to relocate the team to Los Angeles. I just feel for the San Diego Chargers fans. I think they've been screwed.

Spanos would have been better served by moving the team to Las Vegas. Having two teams in LA is a bad business move.
Now Oakland is moving to LV. They missed the boat.

Regarding Ross fortune, at least he has bragging rights to Kraft.
This period since 2000 in the AFC east has been a nightmare. Hopefully this chapter is coming to a close.

You are probably right about Tebowmania. As for Garfinkel, I have noticed - in fact earlier in the year I remember thinking to myself, "man this guy has a cool job" - he had a lot to buzz about this year w the stadium reno, etc. Seems like he gets it.

That was ****ing embarrassing
Well, I guess the Tebow fans got their money's worth - didn't he drive them down like 90 yards in the last 2 minutes to win? After doing nothing all game, I believe.
