It's the Jeff Irlenad/Parcells approach, build a team by not adding play-makers or difference makers, but yet, build a team by drafting offense and defensive lineman in the first round, build a team by uncovering every stone and hoping an "acorn" falls off the tree, build a team by being conservative instead of being aggressive and adding talent, it's called "The Acorn Philosophy on how to build an NFL team" it's going to be a NY Post best seller.

The great franchises go and pick the acorns before they fall off the tree instead of scavenging off the ground like some bottom feeder!

I'm as frustrated as everyone here but I believe it was Dave Hyde said, look at the giants, pats, steelers, green bay, they haven't signed anyone. They wait and add players who are deals if t all. They draft players. The one thing we don't have which makes this work is a QB.

If our product was anywhere near that of the giants, pats, steelers, green bay, I doubt many of us would be complaining.

its a lot easier to do that when you have qbs and skill positions in place.

You are NOTHING without QB

Building though the draft is the only way to stay under the cap and not add other team's problem players (like B Marsh). But the thing you have to do is be able to draft well for all positions.

We drafted two good OL but one is a over payed "1st pick in the draft" player. We drafted two good corners. We drafted, for the pick, one good WR. And that is about it. No wonder we are closer to the cap then other teams but with lesser players. Most of this team is made up of free agents or players we traded for.

You do not start trees from acorns, you plant young trees, train and feed them well and have them grow fast and strong.

You've hit the nail on the head my friend.
We're to busy picking up every team's left overs.

Yep, that's why the Redskins are winning the superbowl every year.
