I'm as frustrated as everyone here but I believe it was Dave Hyde said, look at the giants, pats, steelers, green bay, they haven't signed anyone. They wait and add players who are deals if t all. They draft players. The one thing we don't have which makes this work is a QB.

oh please, our team has to get to their level in order not to sign anyone....in other words, they're set

Those teams are already Super Bowl contenders for crying out loud! Teams like the Pats, Steelers and Ravens have drafted well for years, they've also been perennial playoff teams. Comparing the Dolphins to those franchises is ludicrous and it's what local media and PR flaks do when they don't have a stronger case to make, the old inapplicable comparison.

its a lot easier to do that when you have qbs and skill positions in place.

also easier to do when You employ the best scouts in football...
Also easier to do when your GM drafts the players those scouts tell him to draft...
Also eaiser to do when you play 2012 football and not 1990 football...
Also easier to do when you develop the talent that those scouts spotted when they told you to draft player x...
also easier to do when you then have a coach that will play to the strengths of his team...

I could go on

QBs are important but you need QUALITY players the entire way down, and I think Green bay has only brought in 1 UFA in the past 3 years...the rest of the team was built through the draft...This is why I say if Ross wants to win he needs to start hiring the best scouts and personnel people from around the league and Build a foundation OF FOOTBALL PEOPLE for this team that it has obviously not had since Shula left...Go out and Spend money on the people there is no salary cap for and then let them build you a team...and It will take a few years...but once they build it if you did it smart, you have it for years...
