Just checking stats on NFL.com and was shocked at what I found. All 4 AFC East teams are in the BOTTOM half on the NFL in rushing defense.

20. Miami (We are the best, but still are lousy at it)
25. New England (They've also given up more passing TD's than anyone)
29. Jets (Can't stop the run)
31. Buffalo (Loss of Pat Williams evident)

I can't belive the AFC East is so weak. they say true playoff teasm run and stop the run. The AFC East may only have that half right. In reality none of these teams are playoff worthy.

oh please, new england could be ranked 32nd in run defense and as of NOW, they are most DEFINATELY a playoff team, and no stat is going to tell me otherwise.

what a joke

we should win this division then if we would run the ball 30 times a game

They are only a playoff team becuase they play in this crappy division. The AFC East winner will be 1 and out I guarentee it.

have you watched the patriots this year? I mean i'll grant that they're still a good team, but they aren't a definite playoff team right now at all.

Have you seen that defense play? The injuries don't help and the return of Bruschi might help, but that defense simply isn't very good. Duane Starks has been AWFUL and their inside linebackers specifically Monty Beisel, Mike Vrabel and Chad Brown (the latter two are playing out of position) are getting BLOWN up.

This definitely isn't the same Patriots team we've grown accustomed to seeing, they aren't a sure fire playoff team at this point.

Of course, this could all change.. and they do have Brady behind Center so I guess anything is possible.

How about these stats:

Pats 3-3
Bills 3-4
Dolphins 2-4
Jets 2-5

The Pats only have a one game lead on us 6 weeks into the season. The way they're playing they're not a playoff team.

I agree that the stats don't tell the entire story, but the patriots may not be a great defense right now. I still think, realistically, they're a playoff team.

excatly what im saying...im not saying the pats are anything great or they're going to win the superbowl. all i said was realistically, they are the favorite to win this division and should clinch a playoff birth this season.

i honeestly dont think any of you disagree with me there.
