The Alex Mack Situation

If I could Alex Mack for a reasonable price I'd trade Pouncey Probowler(:ponder:) with 2 years left on his deal easily two 1st or a 1st and 2nd-3rd depending on the team.

More ammo in a deep draft plus the last vestiges of bullygate gone.
 
If we can land Mack, we have 3 pro-bowl caliber corn feds with an ascending new addition and a very deep draft. Not to mention (although I prefer a weapon like Ebron) a shot at a top tier rookie corn fed in the first round. Suddenly our weakest unit on the team, and source of our greatest embarrassment, becomes probably the strongest unit. No brainer IF it can be done.

No, it always makes sense to have QB insurance and that's what Matt Moore provides us.
 
Insure we dont go anywhere? Devlin can lose games at a cheaper price plus I think he could run team for a week or 2. Why not upgrade your weakest link ? Just to pay a scrub more money than your starter

Who would trade that much for an offensive lineman?
 
10 million a year....for a center...hell no!

What on earth are you talking about? Mack isn't happening. Are you suggesting paying a centre $9 million a year? The Brooklyn Nets think that's absurd.

I think this concept is being misconceived. The BROWNS are going to pay him 10 mil this year if he signs his tender. He can negotiate a long term deal with another team and the browns have the opportunity to match...if they dont then he leaves.

Thats why this is interesting that his agent was saying there were creative ways to prevent the Browns from matching without breaking the rules. So say you could sign him to a long-term deal at whatever price top notch guards make (not sure on this...maybe 6-7 mil thats just a guess) and the browns wouldnt match for whatever reason. Thats the situation we are talking about.
 
Im all for backing up the Brinks truck to get mack.
Him or Pouncey at guard, Albert, and Shelly Smith. WOW! Our line would go from a disaster to a strength no matter who is at Right Tackle.
That would also give us much more flexibility in the draft to get BPA (think Ebron if he slips).
Then, you have open comp at RT between a draft pick, Clabo or whoever else
