The Arrogance of our Front Office

Manning feels he should visit Denver, Arizona and Miami. Probably as a courtesy if nothing else. He has stated he will deciede by or on Tuesday. No one can force him too make a descision right now. Calm down...

I don't feel that at all. I think they know that they haven't produced anything to be arrogant about, and Ireland is well aware his butt is on the line.
I think Manning will be meeting with Miami last, and is stopping by the other teams so they can get a feel for leverage to use in negotiations with the Phins. I don't think Ross and Ireland let Manning get away over money at all.

Good logic and good post!

No, it's not just you. Ross seems to think his money can buy him anything and Ireland seems to be very pompous and arrogant to the point some have stated he comes off as if he believes he's the smartest person in the room.Philbin seems to be the wildcard in that he seems very genuine and sincere while definately displaying intelligence and confidence. I hope he can rub off on the other participants in our orginization some.

Are you serious?:bobdole:

This new "No Thanks" button is very seductive and I can see myself forming a visceral reaction when a difference of opinion really grates on me.

However, as close as my own gut reaction was to use it, I refrained myself because, although I think the OP's sentiment is more subjective than objective and feeds some's ongoing axes to grind, it certainly is an opinion that's probably sincere and can be supported by parsed facts as well as refuted by them.

So I'll just agree to disagree on this one (and heatedly so), and use my "dislike" more for trolls, **** thread starters (my biggest pet peeve), redundant one trick ponies, mean-spirited ayeholes and the like
. At least for now

Didn't Ireland just have to leave the UM Pro Day because of a family emergency yesterday? Maybe that emergency is the reason they had to delay meeting with him. There's more to life than football.

I'm usually the first to criticize the FO, but this time i don't think it is warranted yet. Usually they run around like horny puppies chasing everything out there. Maybe this time playing it cool will prevail? Although I don't see Manning being able to work with Ireland.

Ross bringing Ireland on the cross country trip to try and sign Harbaugh
while they had a head coach blowing in the wind.

Arrogant and Ignorant

Still awaiting the inevitable "Dumb and Dumber" photoshop of the two boys.

^^^^This, makes me think that a deal is already in place. We've never been this calm, something is afoot! Put it to my nosy and it doesnt smell so rosey!

I think it is really easy to say "arrogance" cost us a shot at Brees, Coach Harbaugh, maybe P. Manning, and have resulted in other coaches, free agents and others avoiding Miami.

But like the saying goes, "Winning is the best deodorant." The Phins have had nothing but instability since Marino and Shula retired. We have had 17 Qb's come and go since Marino retired. I don't how many head coaches, assistants, OC's and DC's have also come and gone but it has been a lot....then we also have gone through a few owners. Most teams don't change owners that often....look at teams like the Steelers/Giants who always have stability. New England is always pretty stable...same head coach/QB/owner in the past decade with lots of success. I don't think arrogance cost us as much as just plain losing. We have a losing culture in Miami. I think it could all turn around as most NFL players would probably love to live and play in Miami. Only Ireland and Ross can probably answer why people have avoided Miami.

If by arrogant you mean disorganized losers ... 7-9, 7-9, 6-10 .. then they're pretty arrogant.

Otherwise, I don't know what you're talking about what so ever? Nothing to be arrogant about ... the dad-gum stadium is empty.

What exactly about the FO that makes them arrogant? Don't just throw a word without actually giving us concrete examples.

Is it just me or does it seem like our front office is extremely arrogant and that that might be what turns people off including free agents, coaches and the media?

I just hope that "King Ireland" doesn't let us lose out on Manning because of his ego the size of Tokyo...
