I am very proud of My Miami Dolphins.
Having taken the mistakes made by new ownership and not allowing them to be as big or divisive as the National and local media would have like us to believe. They have stood behind each other, and behind Chad Henne who has been attacked like no other Dolphins player I can remember, all the way to his being named a captain on his team.
Some of the attacks were deserved, some were just the new and bold fake bravado that sitting in anonymity behind a keyboard has brought to our society, For all the wonder and information the Internet has given us, it has created a entirely new sort of human. One who has no clue about when enough is enough. Or has no internal brake or relational mechanism that speaking face to face teaches. It has given a voice to those who would otherwise be considered very little more then snot nosed little punks. Allowing them to speak with a Crocodile Mouth, while still only having a Hummingbird ars.
I stand behind this team even more then ever. I think they are more then they are given credit... I think there are many who feel the same. I don't feel one bit sorry for those who will not share any honest joy when this team succeeds. No one should care for or tolerate front runners or band wagoners as first rate fans. They are merely the irritants around those who love their team most.

Well said... I too am stoked about this team and upcoming season. Henne has now finally been given the keys to drive this offense. For people judging him off of last year..I think we see a new, more confident Henne this year. Lets see what he can do when he has free reign...We have no clue what type of QB he can be when allowed to turn it loose.. I think the Fins shock the world Monday night but for me... when this game ends, I will sit there and tell everyone that I knew it all along... This team is better than most people think...I think this team rises to the occasion with something to prove Monday night...

This past year has been really tough on me and my family. With that said, one of the few things that cheers me up is our fins. It is literally no fun to pescimistically bash them day in, and day out. I really think fins are heading in the right direction and am praying they take down NE on monday

I always will be a dolphin fan but that doesnt mean i dont criticize my team when they deserve it. 4 out of 5 losing season deserve criticism if one inclines, two losing seasons along with the last one winning only 1 home game deserves criticism , the line still shifting all around after three years of this regime deserves criticism. I have gotten no pleasure in watching henne regress last year and hope he becomes the player I assumed he would be when we drafted him but to say he has endured unfair criticism is a stretch, he played some bad games last year and overall was a disappointing qb. Some of this is on Henning but Henne has to take his brunt of the blame. maybe we are heading in right direction we will find out soon but there is no justification for goinh 11-5 and following that up with two back to back losing seasons with supposed better talent. If we dont break .500 this year Sparano needs to go with no excuses. I dont care how much talent we are perceived to have , good teams win and the last two years we have not been a good team.

I can sum up that article in 4 words: Everybody should be optimists

I am tired of the real fan crap. If all the people complaining were bandwagon jumpers and frontrunners they wouldn't still be Dolphins fans. The fact that they have stuck around and complained rather than jumping to a new team shows that they are real dolphin fans.

Its not about optimism. It's about support. When a family member is hooked on drugs do you compound the problem by calling them a crackhead, pillhead etc to their face. No it's family, you support them no matter what. Even if the chances of them succeding is slim to none. That's why I never understood the booing of Henne. A true fan would never give opponents an inkling of instability. As long as your wearing teal and white you will have my support. If anyone catches my wrath is the coach because he is supposed to be the manager. It's his job to remove a player from the game if he's not fulfilling his duties. I don't expect a plYer to remove himself.

Most of the negative here was warrented after the way we folded at the end of last season.
Add in some REALLY strange behavior by our owner and even the most faithful Dolphin supporter had to question our direction.
After the calls for everyone head subsided we wanted to see a course correction.

I think we got it.
Tony swollowed his pride and accepted that the "Parcell's way" had become out dated.
Dabell was brought in with the directive to be more explosive.
Bush was signed and during the preseason we saw the potential.
Brandon seems to have his head on straight ( for now )
Henne is moving around and actually calling audibles. He's also a captian now and seems to finally get it.

Now is the time for Homers and Debbie downers , dedicated out of state and PROUD south Florida fans , sceptics , critics , monday morning QB's , couch potatoes and just plain old fans to come together and root for the home team to kick butt .... period.

Then we'll debate the results no doubt.

In before the JCane deconstruction of the "real fan" arguement.

Has long has you don't change teams you are a real fan.

Meanin that team going 1-15 and sticking with them or trading a 2nd round pick for Daunte Culpepper instead of signing Drew Brees this team went through all these hardships and people still like them we they could of easily started rooting for a new team but they didn't so that to me makes a true fan.

I love these real fan arguements. I was in the Army and fought for my Country but I voice my disapproval of our engaging in unneccessary military interventions. Does this mean I'm NOT a real Veteran? I voice my extreme displeasure about the incompetent President and administration we have in D.C., does this mean I'm NOT a real American? I strongly disaprove of RINO's in the political Party I belong to, does that mean I'm NOT a real Republican? I take issues with guys who cheat on their wives, does this mean I'm NOT a real man? I can do this all night. All this yapping about not being a real fan because some of us voice our criticism may be your opinion and thats fine, but the arguement is lame and makes you look foolish. Fair weather fans would never have the courage to post their negative opinions in the face of the vitriolic onslaught of you mediocrity lovers.

You just shot your whole argument there...ASSUMING that anyone loves mediocrity. I mean, really??? No one loves mediocrity. Hell, I wish we could go 11-5, 12-4 EVERY year. I did my fair share of criticizing the team last season and all the recent losing seasons for that matter. There are players and coaches I wish weren't on this team at times. However, just because some of us have hope that we'll turn this around or continue to support those coaches/players doesn't mean a fan embraces mediocrity.
