This may have already been said but Im gonna say it again. I really believe with a healthy Brandon Albert we will be contenders in the AFC. I know he will be back for the season but even if he is back will he be the B. Albert of old. The LT spot is so crucial and if he has lost even a fraction of a step it could be bad for us. He is one of if not the best LT in the game. I hope he is what he was. I'm very concerned.

I am very concerned too.

I am been very upset that team did NOTHING to address this position.

The most egregious thing was La'el Collins. He was ours for a 6th rounder!

I am calling this one of the biggest blunders in recent history.

A disaster!

I just do not believe Albert will be back until October - maybe November - and he has had history of struggling to stay on the field due to health issues.

I want to believe as much as the next guy - but realistically I think the Dolphins blew it and possibly a shot at something special.

Something went wrong with how all of this has been handled.

There is a reason why no team submitted a late round draft pick. It is understood that the Commissioner instructed all the owners not to draft him, because at the time there was genuine concern that the player was involved in the murder of the girl.

whats a healthy brandon albert look like? he hasnt played a full season in living memory

I think there is a little over-reaction here. Albert isn't expected to miss games and he isn't even on the PUP. Back in March, the FO rolled the dice and never addressed it, however, that paid off (financially and addressing other spots). I trust this FO, and based on the fact that they haven't made any knee-jerk reactions to the OL, means they know something we don't

When the season essentially rests on the surgically repaired knee of a 300 pound man, you know the front office has not done a good job acquiring talent in the off-season (at that position of need).

Albert is still limping, has zero real-time reps so far in off-season, and zero real conditioning, and everyone magically thinks LT and swing T is not an issue?

Sorry to say, the front office has done the same thing this season that they've done the previous three: wave a magic wand of pixie dust using Philbin's rose-colored OL glasses, pretending everything is fine. It's not.

OL at G and swing OT is so deficient.

Turn Turner to backup LT immediately and get a real swing OT in here -- along with a real G.

Right. Just like Philbin knew something everyone else didn't the last three years running on OL.

Wow. Just wow. How anyone can look at Philbin's colossal failures at OL judgment and say what you just said... wow.

Even if he's back for week one I don't think he will go the whole season without getting injured. On another note, once he goes down the whole line is gonna fall apart because of the guard pos.that they refuse to address.

my Gut is we sign Mathis after the scrimmage tonight.
I understand the frustration with the OL. I think, like Armando said in his blog, deadlines and desperation make deals

We have Albert and Parker that may not start the season. I don't think either miss more than a month

Wow, tough crowd here.
If our whole season is up to one or two players health, we have way bigger issues.
We haven't played a pre-season game yet and already the season is at stake?

I wouod be shocked if they make a move that fast.....

And as the Dolphins are comfortable -- for now -- with the work rookie Jamil Douglas and third-year player Dallas Thomas have done in camp, they're not likely to move significantly right away. It would require one or both those players fading in camp or performing poorly in the preseason for the Dolphins to rethink their stance.

And the fact Collins said he wouldn't sign with anyone. Idk why that's so hard for some people to get through their thick skulls. Same people posting the same thing even lol.. It's mind boggling almost

Don't hold your breath Tannchise. I think that we would welcome him at a certain number, but we will not overpay by guaranteeing large amounts for a number of years. It is interesting that a stack of other teams needing good experienced Offensive Guards don't appear to want to overpay for him, as well.

My feeling is that Hickey will find a way to swing a player trade for an o-lineman BEFORE they sign Mathis.
