I was just thinking about what QB's are out there(in the NFL) that could possilbly be traded to our Phins. The Bears got Grossman back at the end of the year. They also drafted Orton this past season.I'm pretty sure they'll stick with Rex,so I was wondering if think they would trade him and would we want to trade for Orton. What do you guys and gals think of him?

No to Grossman and hell no to Orton. Grossman is the Bears QB and he played well in the playoff game, so I would expect for the Bears to put their full faith in him. Orton could be a guy on the block, but I doubt any team would want him to start. Orton is a career backup.

I doubt the Bears would give up Orton though. Grossman hasn't proven that he can stay healthy, they need a capable backup. But even if they were willing to give him up, I wouldn't want him.

Took the words outta my mouth

no to either one...orton aint ever gonna be a stud and grossman is injury prone

Orton didnt put up good numbers but the guy was a rookie, theres no reason to be giving up on him having a shot at a good career. Lets not be stupid most Rookies struggle terribly, at least he wasnt throwing pick 6's and losing games. I wouldnt trade for Orton but I do think he is going to at least be a solid backup for Chicago for years, certainly worth the draft pick they spent on him.

If we got either of them I'd want Rex, but I wouldn't give up anything higher than a 3rd to get him. Orton is still a project that regressed as the season grew old.

I give Orton all the credit in the world for not blowing games, but he is not a guy any team is gonna look for to be a leader. If he is shipped out, it will be for a mid-round pick to be a 3rd stringer on some team and the Bears would be avoiding controversy. If he had been QBing the Panthers game, which the Bears lost because of a laughable defensive effort, the game would have been 35-3. At least looking the score with Grossman in there made it appear closer than it was.

The Bears have no reason to want to trade either of them.

So what we think of them is a irrelevant.

Hello,

I actually live in Chicago. I have seen Orton play all year. Knowing what I know, your opions look pretty sad.

I'll just give you a little info. Orton had NOBODY to throw to. Bears receivers couldn't get open. If they did they dropped the ball. If they had a decent game they got injured for the rest of the year. No tight end either.

Kyle was not well liked by his teamates. They would call him out, scream and yell at him, etc. Reportedly, Orton was too ****y from the begining..... you know the same stuff teams look for in a player.

Orton also was hamstrung by an offensive coordinator who hurt Kyle. If they did throw a pass, it was usually on 3 and long. If the run was working, Turner would pass and vice versa. The playcalling was bad, but that's usual for Chicago's offense for decades it seems.

I believe the original poster is right. Chicago has too many young QBs. Both cannot develope tied at the wrist. Besides, supposedly Kreutz cannot snap the shotgun. Orton has been raised in the shotgun. Another thing that hamstrings him.

I believe the bears also will trade Thomas Jones as well.

I will have my fun: I wouldn't be suprised if Jones and Orton were Dolphins this year. Angelo works with teams he has in the past, frequently. Perhaps a trade of Jones, Orton and Haynes for Frerotte, Welker and a draft pick.

People around here have compared Kyle's stats in his rookie year to the hall of fame QBs this past induction. Kyle's are much better than most of them. Roethlisberger makes Orton look silly though.

Hello, rookie QB starting almost every game and did well.

Here I wil try and put this into context. NFL players are like commodities. You buy low, sell high.
