I am very surprised that the Front Office decided to cut Ronald Bellamy and keep Danny Farmer who doesn't have a catch the last few years. The only thing he has over Bellamy is more years in the NFL with not much production other than 268 yds. his rookie year is his height which is 6-3 compared to Bellamy's 6 foot even. Is anyone else surprised by this move? I guess we could use some taller WRs for the redzone but I felt Bellamy had good potential. What do you guys think?

p.s. this is the 1st thread I've ever started after over 450 posts I thought I was ready.;)

I think a number of us was surprised by the move, I kept thinking in the back of mind that if Belamy gets through waviers and is out there for a moment, we will reclaim him at some point this PS.

PS? This guy is decent enough to play in the NFL. I hope some team picks him up and he gets a chance to actually play vs be on our bytch boy squad (Although Id love to be on that squad)

apparently Bellamy was making strides in camp...as well as apparently being a great guy. Saban actually seemed bothered by the fact he had to cut him. But, no matter how nice a guy you are, you gotta be a player and there weren't enough spots at the WR position for a guy that was getting beat out by rookie non-drafted FAs and he's been in for 3 years. (well, this is his 3rd I believe)

Someone had to go, and WR is not an easy position to crack when you consider the established players the team already has. With the number of players left in TC there will be a lot of tough choices for Saban and his staff. This is just the 1st of many that may be surprising.
