Since 2012, only eight defenders have recorded at least 27 sacks and at least 68 other tackles at or behind the line. Those players are J.J. Watt, Ndamukong Suh, Michael Bennett, Calais Campbell, Muhammad Wilkerson, Kyle Williams, Aaron Donald and William Hayes.

Just thought it was an interesting little stat. Should be fun (hopefully) to see how Burke rotates the D-line.

Surprised to see that as well, he's not a player that most people (myself included) would look at as elite.

Hayes was great for us IMO. Truly a surprise as I didn't think he was all that much of an addition when we picked him.

Hayes reunited with his buddy Quinn is going to be fun to watch

I'm just glad we have him to kick inside at DT because I am not as confident in this DT group as management seems to be.

I mean the group is serviceable . . . Adding Akeem Spence was huge but ultimately Jordan Phillips needs to take that next step. Taylor and Godchaux will hopefully improve in year 2 and Hayes will kick inside often.

DT will be high on the list of draft needs in 2019 for sure though.

Another secret :pompus

Akeem Spence?? Might not even make the 53. Man are you reaching.

Not only will he easily make the team, he will probably start over Godchaux due to experience and skill. Godchaux has yet to record a sack, Spence had 3 last year, and has 4 extra years of experience over him.

He was pretty good last year in Detroit, and is reunited with his DL coach from there....seems like a great fit. I don't know where this "He's gonna be cut, and fast!" nonsense is coming from. It's pretty clear that a move was made to get him with intentions of using him frequently.

He's a little small for a DT at only 6'1, but he strikes me as the pass rushing type. We have Godchaux and Taylor to eat up blockers, Phillips and Spence are going to eat. I still miss Suh, but tbh he didn't quite have the impact I expected, so this DT group looks like a good new direction to me (cheap).

I was very happy when Miami re signed William Hayes for the 2018 season. He played well when is limited snaps last season and I hope he gets increased playing time in 2018. I agree with the sentiment that the defensive tackle position is probably the team's weakest link. I'm betting that the 2019 draft it's going to be heavy in the defensive tackle position for Miami.

What makes you say that? Because no one else seems to have that line a thought

We just traded for him, he’s on a relatively low price contract, and is a serviceable / average player

You **** on everything this team does and everyone on it
