The biggest problem with this team is...

Who/what is most to blame for our current situation?

Problem is coaching. Even though players play and coaches coach, you can't even watch this team for 4 qtrs and not get pissed at huge strategical mistakes. I understand a lot of philosophies, been a pro football fan forever, and must have watched a feww thousand games. Our 2nd year coaching staff is definitely a weakness. They suck.

Its been largely the OL. This past Sunday though was completely on the playcalling.

I voted coaching even though I like Joe Philbin. Joe's offensive and defensive coordinators don't seem to be very good and Joe is responsible for them. After reading Barry Jackson's article this morning it probably is a actually a combination of coaching and Jeff Ireland's decisions. Also as I said earlier this team seems to lack heart in critical situations.

So, less than 7% of fins fans think Tannehill is the biggest problem with this team.

There is hope for this board after all.

It's hard to have heart when your head coach won't even fight for you. Why wasn't that Matthews sideline catch challenged? Philbin is a cipher and was probably that way as a parent too.

Damn this brought the trolls out big time. I think you should keep the last statement to yourself although I do agree Philbin should have much more passion on the sidelines.

This team is clearly not improving. We still can't cover tight ends, we still can't get off the field on third down, we are having a record-setting season for sacks allowed, our QB has suddenly become turnover prone, we have a 60 million dollar receiver with one touchdown after seven games and the part that irritates me the most: we are making the same mistakes over and over. They are just not being corrected.

Most of this is on the coaching staff IMO. They have to go. We have the same coaches that we had last year on ALL positions. You would assume the players would improve based on their familiarity with the coaches alone. But they're not, they're clearly not.

The bolded statements were definitely not the problem Sunday.

Philbin, Sherman and a distant third Coyle for not letting the young kids in but crucifying RT into beating defenses with nothing but his brain.

I can see Sherman, "Nuh huh huh, don't scramble that's cheating. Nuh huh huh, you have to close games not the RBs. Nuh huh huh no TE's pass blocking. Nuh huh no isolation plays that's Madden."

They did the same to Egnew too, just post him in between the hash marks every play and he'll come down with it I don't care if he can't block or if he can't break tackles cause he's soft, he'll out jump DB's 10/10 and out run LB's 10/10.

IMO Egnew's been a victim of what they're doing to Tanne right now.

In a similar note for miscasting Carroll into this defense. He is not even that bad he's just expected to do something he can't, ask him to just stick to his guy and he'll run with the best, but you keep the FS so far back Carroll doesn't get help on time. At the same time we don't bring the kids in who are supposed to fit the system much better.

After that Ireland/Ross for picking a coaching staff that would pretty much require different personnel in just about every single unit on the field than the 2011 one.

Clabo and Jerry although they were given jobs and will stay at them till they get fired.

Mike Wallace for dropping balls and not even attempting to fight for them if in traffic. It seems as he can't even put his hands over the defender's if they are on him. Damn, Carroll would shut him down with his sticky press coverage. I guess they are trying to force their philosophy into him too, cause they haven't even tried to get him open deep, have him run a corner or wheel route and roll Tanne to the right like Reid does in KC and that's instant 30+ yards a pop.

Definitely Reggie, Dansby, Marshall and Bess left not because they didn't fit but because they were outspoken and we can expect Cog, Starks and maybe Pouncey to be gone at the end of the season because of the very same reason.

To me it's the GM....I dont think an owner has much affect on wins and losses, Jerry Jones didn't cause them to win 3 rings....and he is not to blame for them not winning since the 90's. The GM buys the groceries and makes the personnel decisions....
And Jeff has done a piss poor job here.

I see your point, but my rational was that the owner directly hires the gm which is why I lumped them together

Jeff Ireland is the common denominator. He hired the coaches and drafted or not, the personnel.
